Which composers do you prefer? |
Why only those choices?

yeah...more choices. Not that I have anything against "oldies" when it comes to musicals, but there are a lot more contemporary composers who I prefer much, much more.
Frank Wildhorn to name one :c)

John Kander is the composer....and I'll add Cole Porter,Cy Coleman,Andrew Lippa, and Jerry Herman to my list.
Let's see. Jason Robert Brown, Jonathan Larson, Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and John Kander. Style points go to Andrew Lippa, Frederick Loewe, Claude-Michel Schönberg, and Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus for Wild Party, My Fair Lady, Les Misérables, and Chess, respectively. Between them, you've got a vast range of styles, and that fits my ear perfectly.

Frank Wildhorn is one of those people who can turn the page and jump into a completely different style of music. I mean he is really brilliant.
