Last night, while seeing The Incredibles, I saw a preview for what looked like one of the worst sequels--the Mask 2, starring none of the original cast. BUt, i did a double take when I saw who WAS starring as its apparent villain--Alan Cumming! I love this man. And i always repsect the work he chooses to do. SO why this?? How i'd love to see him back on stage somewhere, or maybe in a GOOD movie. Oh well, maybe im judging too early. But i would say this looks pretty awful. Maybe he needed the $$. Who knows. Ill just hope this doesnt tarnish his career too much.
Alan's going to be in a lot of movies this year and he just returned from an amFAR trip in China to raise money for AIDS. Don't worry about Alan, it looks like he's doing fine movie-wise :)
Alan Cumming has never been known for chosing good movie roles..."Spice World" anyone? Oh well. I guess selling out once in a while let's him do worthier projects like "Anniversary Party".
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

I agree with you, 'The Mask 2' looks god-awful (the original Mask was only moderately funny, at best) and it's sad that actors have to star in films like these just because they "need the money". However, I love Alan and I think he's very talented, so I'm sure he'll bring that quirkiness we all know and love him for to the role.
