Ok, I am going to see Wicked and Little Shop of Horrors when I visit NY for Thanksgiving. I want more than anything to go backstage and meet the cast of Wicked. Anyone can just meet them outside the stage door, I would love to be one of those special few people who get to go backstage. Unfortunately I have no connections. I thought I might write to Kristen Chenoweth, Idina Menzel of Norbert Leo Butz, and see if they would let me, being that I'm a HUGE fan of all of theirs. I've also heard that you can give a man at the stage door a note to a star and see if they will let you come back. Does this really work? PLEASE help me achieve my dream! Lemme know what you think, and what would be my best bet. Thanks again!

I've honestly never tried writing an actor, specifically requesting to go backstage.

When you say "backstage" are you referring to the green room, etc. or to see the actual stage/sets... or both? I don't know if writing to them will work, but I suppose it couldn't hurt to try, right?

I've never written to an actor or actress requesting a backstage visit, but I know people who have. It couldn't hurt. Any time I've been backstage or onstage it's been because I had a friend in the company. Good luck and let us know what happens re: re: how to meet the famous again... re: re: how to meet the famous again...

You could always do the Eve Harrington thing and hang around the stage door after doing standing room for every show. Just make sure you can give 'em a good tale as to how you wound up there.

Whenever I have gone backstage of a show it has been due to writing to the performers...I never really asked to go backstage, I only mentioned that I would love to meet them after the show, and somehow I wound up going backstage a few times...It hasnt worked all the time, but many times...

I had a dream... I dreamed it for you June... It wasn't for me Herbie... And if it wasn't for me, then where would you be, Miss. Gypsy Rose Lee?

LOL, Vicious!

Actually, in all seriousness, Kristin does have a reputation of being exceptionally warm to her fans after a show. In this bitchy world we follow, I have yet to hear a bad word said about her.

Master LCZ,

Are you sure that I don't know you from my past performing days???

Marcy, Muriel, are you out there? At first I thought it was Viv, but I was mistaken!

Love,

Miriam

PS Did you hear about the revival of EARLY TO BED?

You can always lie and say it's your birthday and beg to go backstage. It's incredibely pathetic, but there are actually people that do that and get back.

This is just my opinion, but unless you know someone at the theater or in the show and are honestly going there to visit or whatever, you don't really belong backstage. Personally, I would feel really uncomfortable if I were back there and didn't know anybody. Friends belong backstage; fans belong at the door.
