How about compilation albums. I would like to see "Kander & Ebb" & "Sondheim" compliations of many songs cut from their shows. " Cabaret is a great song but how many compilations albums must they put this song on ? Let's hear stuff we have not heard before

Oh dear Lord. What we don’t need is another Sondheim compilation album. It seems one comes out every two years with the same songs just different singers. He hasn’t written anything new before Bounce in what, ten years? What else could there possibly be to record that we haven’t heard already? Sutton singing “I’m Still Here”? Marissa singing “Send in the Clowns”?

I love Sondheim, but enough already. Jeesh!
PEACE.

Actually, what I'd like to see is a new Ben Bagley (well, not literally, but you know what I mean) someone who can dig up good (and not so hot) - songs by composers as varied as Porter, Arlen, Coward, Rogers, DeSylva, Brown & Henderson, Emslie eyc. and give them a new presentation.
Alas, the Bagley "Revisited" albums were great in theory, but uneven in execution, with both wonderful and dreadful singers and rinky-dink orchestrations. But the liner notes were genius!

The OCR of "The World Goes Round" does pretty fair justice to K&E
