Who do you think should replace Harriet Harris as Mrs. Meers? I think it'll be very hard to top since she was SO good in it, but someone has to step up to the plate. but who?

Either Marian Seldes or Zoe Caldwell. Both of these great ladies have made their reputations in serious theater, but they can also be hilariously funny.

Somebody said Jackie Hoffman, from Hairspray. And I think that would be the greatest, I would go back a 5th time to see that...

Jackie Hoffman isn't right for the part. I don't think Linda Hart would work either. But Marian Seldes is an INCREDIBLE idea. I've seen Millie 3 times, but I would go back a fourth just to see her. She would be PERFECT. I can imagine her performing this role so well. She would be a riot!

She is too big a star, but I think Bette Midler would be the ultimate Mrs Meers! I think she is going on the road soon though as well. I could just see that performance!

if they want to unsoften the box office with some star power, I suspect they may turn to their producing team for

I think patti Lupone or Linda Eder......except Linda will soon be in Camille Claudelle re: re: re: re: re: re: Who should be the next Meers?

Bette would be histerical in that role! AHHH, sounds like a dream cast idea to me.

Bette's new tour will be called "Kiss My Brass." LOL Seriously though; that's what she said.

TERRY BURRELL!!!#14
Posted: 8/8/03 at 10:50pm
I just saw this amazing show on tuesday. Terry Burrell was so great. I never did see Harriet Harris though. Tuesday was...my first time! Where was Sutton? I saw Megan Campbell. She was great, but I wanted to see Sutton. The role of Mrs. Meers is an amazing one for any comedic actress. Have any of you seen Terry Burrell in it. She was awesome! Go see it. Ben Davis also makes a hilarious Trevor Graydon. Again, I have nothing to compare my opinions to, so I don't know how much they are worth. I love this show. I just hope it stays strong. I wonder who could replace Sutton. I suggest an unknown. Or maybe Darcie?

Carol Burnett! That would be hysterical! Carol Burnett or Bette Midler are my top choices. Either of them would boost Millie's ticket sales, that's for sure!

Zoran- who could replace Sutton? JENNIFER GAMBATESE! She could blow everyone away with Sutton's songs, and she has great comedic timing. She could take over along with Matt Cavenagh when he finishes the tour.

Jennifer Gambatese! I forgot about her. I've only heard her on the FAME(ugh) CD. I have things against that show, but she sounded amazing as Serena. Isn't she playing Penny Pingleton now?
Regarding Megan, I thought she was incredible! Did she really just graduate from HS!?!? If so, then, well...wow! She was a great performer. Great voice, not as strong as Sutton's though. She was kind of breathy. I thoroughly enjoyed her performance though. I was surprised because they forgot to put the understudy announcement in my playbill. The curtain opens with Millie's back to you. I thought it was Sutton. Then Megan turned around and I was kinda shocked. But I warmed up to her pretty quick. She had a great "Jimmy." Her "Gimme, Gimme" wasn't that bad either. She's amazing for someone so young. I could even see her taking over the role. I've never seen Sutton though. So what have I to compare her to? Nothing. Oh well!
