But she really does not need ALW anymore. She has plenty of her own money. She is a huge success around the world.

yeah thats true BoxofficeJon!! I think if it wasn't for ALW & "Phantom of the Opera" she wouldn't be where she is! But don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of hers! Her new album is great! Did anyone catch that "Harem" special on TV last week??

Mr. Roxy~ I wouldn't worry about Mr. Hamlisch these days. He's heading the troups as Principal conductor for both The Pitts. Sypmhony & Nt'l Sypmhony Orch. Wash. DC. He's booked pretty solid throughout the year.
I just came from seeing him with the Pitt. Symp. at the 'gala' opening of a brand new PAC facility in Bushkill, Pa. He's taken on some pretty impressive Broadway performers as featured vocalists, J Mark Mc Vey(Le Miz) and Brad Little (POTO, Gary Mauer(POTO) etc. He's also auditioned some heavy hitters for future tours. He's in pretty good shape...well he's a little portly and gray...but still smooshes the crowd!

I cannot believe this. I'll explain. About a year ago, I was watching some retro music show and a video called 'Starship Trooper' by a group called Hot Gossip came on TV. I was struck by the resemblance one of the members had to Sarah Brightman. I think I shrugged it off after being unable to find anything about Hot Gossip.

I just looked up her biography and found out that it really WAS Sarah Brightman in that group. That is weird as hell.

By the way, the song and video were really, really bad sci-fi disco. Just terrible.

I didn't see the special but could it be the sames as the limited DVD that you could buy with the CD?

I wish I had known there was going to be a special DVD release version. I bought the first one and then the new one came out. Also did the same with Chicago--but ended up buying both. LOL

I'm pretty sure that the special that was on TV is the limited edition DVD. The DVD I think you can only buy with the CD.

The special that was on TV wasn't really a concert it was just a bunch of videos that she made for her new songs.

I haven't watched all of the DVD but the parts I saw were about the making of the song. How they went to great lengths to be sure the music would be just right--even went to the Middle East to record there, etc, etc.

I know what you mean, Jon. I hate it when I buy a CD or a DVD and then a month later they come out with the "new" version. Or they add a song track (as in ONE) to a CD you have so you have no choice but either to go without the new song or shell out the extra money for something you mostly already have. I don't like that and I really don't think it's fair. I know it's good marketing from their stand point but it sucks.

I wait and get the 2nd CD/DVD off of places like Ebay or Half.com when they pull that kind of stuff.
