Kyle MacLachlan and Irish actor Aidan Gillen will join Patrick Stewart in the upcoming Roundabout Theatre Company mounting of Harold Pinter's The Caretaker, a production spokesperson confirmed to Broadway.com. David Jones will direct the play at the American Airlines Theatre.
Gillen, best known for playing Stuart Allen Jones in the original Queer as Folk, began his career as a teenager appearing in plays in his native Dublin.

I hate to rain on your parade here, but I wouldn't get overly excited about this. I saw Aiden Gillen at the Almeida in a production of Platonov with him in the title role. Great production and the performances from Johdi May and Helen McCrory were faultless. But Aiden Gillen was atrocious. Really bad. He had no idea what he was doing or any sense of the character. Shame.
Patrick Stewart and Kyle McLachlan should be good, but that's all.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.
I, as well, saw the production you are speaking of. I personally, thought that Aiden did a fantastic job. Perhaps you just saw him on an off night? Or maybe I just saw him on a good night. O_o I would find this incredibly unlikely though given his performances in the past.
I'm quite excited to hear the news that Aiden will be coming to Broadway.
To musicaltheatreman,
No, there are currently no new shows of Queer as Folk UK running.
