"Noah, someday we'll talk again. But there's things we'll never say. That sorrow deep inside you. It inside me, too. And it never go away. You be okay. You'll learn how to lose things..."
It has however (despite what some posters believe) done a lot for Broadway. It brought a whole new audience to the Great White Way. I don't know if it is the best.
David walked into the valley
With a stone clutched in his hand
He was only a boy
But he knew someone must take a stand
There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail

Wicked is FAR FAR FAR from the best show on/that was ever broadway....I'll give it that it does have SOME good songs (for good and defying gravity) but thats about it. What the tonys awarded the show...are the only good parts (costume, lighting, and idina).
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
I think it's a good show, but it's really not everyones type of show... be warned, too much Wicked talk causes riots. :)
I would not call it the best, but I love it for what it is, whatever it is, flaws and all. It appeals to a large group of people so I think it will be around a while. And as was stated earlier, it does draw a new group of people to Broadway. I have begun to convert many a friend into theater-lovers by way of the Wicked OBCR. Oh the plans I have for them...

Wicked makes me sick. It's so incredibly overrated. I don't think 'Defying Gravity' is even that great of a song in the first place. I love Wizard of Oz, but Wicked just makes me get really...mad.

No, it's an okay musical, but It's become SO overrated and SO much of an overblown pop sensation that I refuse to agknowledge it anymore. They should make a seperated Wicked board so all of those fans can be happy over there and not make threads like this.
Keep the peace, take care of each other, and may you find your promised land.

I enjoyed watching WICKED and think its a really good show with some flaws. BUT the hype far out weighes the quality of show. That alone makes me shy away from it.
Though scattered and divided we are still its heart...AIDA SEPTEMBER 5th, 2004...one more longing backward glance...
I AM NOW "TGIF!"
Thanks for the welcome. I was really happy and surprised to find a large group of Sweeney fans here! My mom started playing the CD when I was born, and I knew all the lyrics when I was 6. I did Worst Pies In London for my fourth grade talent show. Obsessed....maybe.

i think there should be a link for new board members to check out with everything they need to know about this place so they dont get yelled at for asking a question... such as what is frequently asked.
defyerofgravity, i think its a great show... but we all have different opinions here and some will show up a little too strong. welcome though! and welcome to lovettespies too!
you guys, come now. at one point or another everyone was on the wicked hype bandwagon. then y'all stopped liking it because of how over-blown its become. its not BAD. its a good musical it deserves its chance to make as long a run as it can. though it is going on tour next march or april i believe.
