Jimmy Smits will head the cast of the Pulitzer Prize-winning opus, Anna in the Tropics, this fall at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey. Also in the production are Priscilla Lopez, John Ortiz and Daphne Rubin-Vega.

Rubin-Vega is very over rated. Yes, she was a GODD MIMI, but I have seen better and she was a good Magenta, but nothing more than that.

I think she was great on the Rent and RHS recordings.

Great on a recording doesn't mean crap. They DO tweak the voices on the recording to make them sound better AND they do have multiple chances to get in right.

That is why I do not judge a performer by recordings.

I wonder if they'll keep that cast for Broadway. I am sure it is coming, but I wonder if they'll try to get bigger stars in. Has anyone seen it? Maybe at the Public? Who could be in it?
