...is AMAZING in "A Home At the End of the World"

The movie is based on Michael Cunningham's (THE HOURS) first novel; he also wrote the screenplay...

The cast is STELLAR; so amazing!! I have a new found respect for Colin Farrell as a serious actor; his acting was so amazingly, beautifully specific and I loved every second it the movie.

If it's playing near you, GO SEE IT!!

The cast, like I said, is sensational. And it's laugh-out-loud funny one moment and then tug-at-your-heart-strings poignant the next. So good. So, so good.

I kept watching it saying to myself: "I want to be RUGGED like that." He's so rugged. And so, so sexy.

Oh, man. Those body shots--I was in heaven.

The big scene between he and Claire? Oh, man, I was captivated. He was so consistantly in the moment.

They all were. Phenominal movie. I hope it gets it's proper dues at the Oscars.

...'Course, you know it won't. The best ones never do.

I'm so glad to know the film is "amazing". Did you leave the movie theater stunned with amazement? Did you have to be carried out?

No, I didn't have to be carried out on a stretcher, but it took some coaxing from myself to get up out of my seat.

The whole film is just completely subtle but says so much.

Sissy Spacek is great.

I have to go see it again!!

Anyone in NC want to join? It's in Chapel Hill!

I thought Colin was amazing in it - and so unbelievably sexy. The sensitive, wide-eyed portrayal makes you want to hug him, then shag him silly in bed.

The movie itself I had some problems with. Although I enjoyed it, I felt it didn't have a narrative shape or dramatic arch. It kinda just rambled from event to event. I haven't read the book, but I suspect the movie suffered from not having done a good job adapting a literary work into a dramatic one. I felt they could have made the movie longer; some moments and events weren't carefully explored enough. Again, I felt the movie jumped from one circumstance to the next, without much reflection.

Still, an enjoyable movie, if solely for the remarkable performances.

Yes, I agree that the movie could have been fleshed out more. I read an article with Michael Cunningham (author of the book and writer of the screenplay) and he said it was very hard to decide what stayed and what was cut.

And as for the cutting of the frontal nudity, another article said, by the director: Don't look for it in deleted scenes.

I think it has been cut entirely. However, maybe it's just a publicity stunt and it will be there after all! re: COLIN FARRELL...

I was actually quite happy with the gorgeous display of Colin flesh in the movie. My god, the man is perfect - anyone remember the scene when he walks in naked (camera crops just above the you-know-what) and lays down by Jonathan? Hot hot hot!

But I hope they still include the frontal scene on the DVD - at Colin's insistence.

There are no words for how sad I am that the "distracting" scene was cut, but, sadly, it doesn't look like Colin's leprachaun will make an appearance on the dvd either. Even Colin doesn't want the scene included in the "special features." He did an interview foe EW in which he stated that it would be, in his opinion, gratuituous. Funny, he's never had an issue with gratuituous sex before...

I thought he DID want the scene included on the DVD. Or at least that was the rumour.

Perhaps that's true, but he just wanted to sound diplomatic in print.
