No, I think you heard wrong. I think what you actually heard is that Stritch will the new Roxy Hart in "Chicago" on Broadway this coming fall.

I thought Doogie Hauser was moving into the Sally role! Hurummp!
You just can't believe some people after 10 or 12 Long Island Ice Teas on the deck! I also sat on my flag!

Fondly, as ever, Max

You're all wrong. She's coming to Broadway in a revival of "Annie" starring as Annie. For several years she has longed to play the red-headed moppet. Arnold Schwartznegger has been signed to play Daddy Warbucks and Betty White is slated to play Miss Hannigan.

So I guess that means she is NOT replacing Sandra Joseph as Christine in Phantom?

*sniffles* I was really looking forward to that one!

All kidding aside, Elaine would have made a sensational Jeanette Burmeiste in THE FULL MONTY. Why didn't anyone think of it?

Dollypop, I think Stritch's price tag might have been too high for Full Monty. Plus many directors avoid her because she is really difficult to work with.

All that may be true, but can you imagine Elaine playing Jeanette?

All of you are totally wrong. I was told that Stritch is going to headline the Broadway revival of "Oh, Calcutta!" opening on Broadway next Spring.

I'd just love to see her in the costume that Sally wears during "Mein Herr." Ya know, the one that's a lacy teddy-type lengerie piece with the go-go boots and stalkings w/ runs. Purrrr

Stritch did Mame. I believe she toured with Bea Arthur where each night they switched roles, one night Stritch played Mame and Bea played Vera, the next night Bea played Mame and Stritch palyed Vera.

wow i think Stritch will be an amazing Sally, if only they raise the keys of "Maybe This Time" back to the original Liza keys so she can end the song riding e's and f's, that would be much better suited for her voice.

Can't wait to see her in the Mein Herr biker oufit!
