I don't somehow think Janet Winnebago (as I like to call her) would be able to dance the show, and there is absolutely no way that talent free ho Britney Spears could sing it.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.
I would love to see the cast of the movie in the Broadway show. I know Renee Zellwigger(sp?) and Richard Gere have said that they wouldnt like to do 8 shows a week, but I think Catherine Zeta-Jones would be up to it. I would love to see Queen Latifah do the part live. I thought that she was surprisingly good in the movie.
Pfft. I could do without Richard Gere, thanks, and while I liked her acting, I have the feeling that Renee Zellwegger's voice wouldn't be up to 8 shows a week. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah, on the other hand, seriously impressed me in the movie.
As for who I'd like to see...eh, I stink at casting games. :)
I definetly agree about Richard and Renee. They surprised me that they could handle the parts in the movie, but they would not be able to handle 8 shows a week.
Millie, when you say "anyone but Britney Spears!", does that mean you're okay with Emma Bunting? Can't imagine she'd be any better, but maybe that's just me.
Have I ever shown you my Shattered Dreams box? It's in my Disappointment Closet. - Marge Simpson
Now that I think of it, was she a Spice Girl? Okay, not her either! But first and foremost, anyone but Britney. Sad, because I used to be a big fan of hers.

"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel

Hey! You cheated! That's from your site! (just kidding; I can't believe I remembered that)
I loved the idea of Linda Hart as Mama, I think she would be a good Velma too!! Not sure about Cheno either.. The Mama Morton in Mexico was amazing I'd like to see her again, her name is Laura Cortes
I would see Linda Hart more as a Mama Morton more than a Velma, unless she was a bit younger. I tried to remember her voice during Miss Baltimore Crabs and The Big Dollhouse, and hey, she wouldn't do terribly.
