I've seen an amateur production of it, and it is AMAZING! I have the cast recording (not soundtrack, lol) and script. I recommend it to anyone because, even though it has a somewhat strange premise, the characters and plot are developed very well, and the music is really great. Go Bat Boy!
The New York production was excellent - I haven't laughed that hard in years.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"
Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!
I love the music, and have never seen the show. I may go to London, however, and if I do, I'm taking a trip to wherever Deven is currently playing Bat Boy.
I have seen the show, it's not one of my favorite but it is a very fun show and I play the cast recording all the time. I like it because it is so bizar, it's strange and interesting different lol.
Grace: My love for you is like this scar (points to elbow) ulgy but permanent!
Oh i love that show soooooo much i have the cast recording and script and i saw it at my sleepaway camp (called french woods festival for the performing arts)and i fell in love w/ comfort and joy!
Bat Boy WooT! Bat Boy is like, one of the best non-Sondheim or JRB musicals ever. Yes it's weird, yeah, it's not exactly mainstream, but it's really, really, good. Umm, that's it.
Is there room for Poko in a HEART FULL OF MUFFINS??????
Hold me, Bat Boy! Touch me, Bat Boy! Help me through the niiiight.
Hole me, Bat Boy! Love me, Bat Boy! Make everything turn out all riiiiight.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Bat Boy was fabulous. I saw it thrice on stage and loved every second of it.
"Noah, someday we'll talk again. But there's things we'll never say. That sorrow deep inside you. It inside me, too. And it never go away. You be okay. You'll learn how to lose things..."
The 1st time I saw Batboy I knew nothing about it. Needless to say after the first bite I had to see it 2 more times. Every single person in that cast was incredible. It's nice now to see a show and see a familiar face from that show. Kerry Butler in Hairspray and then in LSOH. Kaitlin Hopkins as the mom in Bare. I'm so glad I got the poster signed by the entire cast - just another prized possession.

my camp French Woods put it on, but unfort. i started feeling sick in the beginning, so i didnt stay, but EVERYONE loved it and they played it all summer in the computer lab
i love the soundtrack and when i was in NY on wed i went by the Wicked stage door after the show (tried to get lottery tickets, couldnt..BOO) and sean mccourt was out there and i was telling him how much i loved bat boy and he was like yeah thats my favorite. he was so nice. GO BAT BOOOOOOOOOOOOY
i saw it in new york. what an amazing show. theatre dosent get better then that production. im going to london in february and i hope by then it has a little home in west end. i would LOVE to see it again.
I didn't get to see "Bat Boy" when it was Off Broadway but I had the extreme pleasure of being in a production of it last fall at my university. It was one of the most amazing theatrical experiences I've ever had. I just love the music, the characters, and the themes and stuff. Comfort and Joy is definitely my favorite song on the recording, but the big opening number was my favorite to perform. We even got chosen to perform at the American College Theatre Festival!! Devon May called me (he's a friend of a friend) and left a good luck message on my voice mail for me and my cast during our run...which was very sweet and extremely exciting! :o)
I'm sure the Off Broadway production would have enjoyed a long run downtown had it not been for the events of 9/11. I find it to be very contemporary and edgey, I really love that it's so unlike anything I've ever seen/heard before.
DON'T DENY YOUR BEAST INSIDE!
PS I have a great picture of my cast on our set but have no idea how to insert an image
