I think Kathy Brier is taking over in August for Marissa. Kathy is amazing and I can't wait to see her as Tracy! She is on "One Life to Live" right now. She plays Marcy, the quirky friend of the characters Al and Jen. She was so great in "Batboy" that I can't wait to hear her reviews in "Hairspray." I heard she is currently the stand-by as well, or at least one of them. Go Kathy, you rock! True Shoshana is an amazing talent, but she is beautiful and thin! It is kind of hard to picture her as Tracy without some extra pounds. I LOVE her though!

She is going to film a pilot, and then she said she will be returning around the Holidays. I just feel bad for whoever has to replace her for a few months. I would actually like to see her in a sitcom. I just hope what happened to Kristen Chenowith doesn't happen to Marissa.

If you mean her saying "I'll be back soon", that doesn't mean leave in August, come back in November. That just means "Yeah I'm leaving, but I'm not going to say away for years". Besides, Hairspray is playing to above capacity (101.2%) crowds. Why would they need her back to boost Holiday sales??

Well, if she did, she changed her mind in the last week, becasue a week ago she said it wouldn't be until the beginning of summer 2004.
If they pick up her series, I doubt she she COULD come back at the holidays. They would be filming.

Ooooh please let Kathy Brier take over for Marissa! I adore her - she is such a lovely person, so talented, perfect for Tracy. She was GREAT in Bat Boy and she is doing an excellent job on OLTL. I would run to the box office to see her as Tracy.
