Hey Guys:
Didn't I read at some point that there would be a cast recording issued of MY LIFE WITH ALBERTINE? Being a big Emily Skinner fan, I want to add this to my collection. Anyone have any news on the release?

Hahhahhaa yes, Albertine WAS indeed recorded -- no idea of the release date. I can ask around and see what I can find out, but the last time I asked, nobody had an answer.

Her song ("I Want You") MAY alarm you. *sigh* But she's fabulous as always. Even though the show scarred me for life, I'm sure I'll be getting the recording... just because I *must* learn the correct words to "Sometimes" because Flae and I can never get past the... "Sometiiiiimes..."

Alas, is it sad that I can actually sing some of the songs from that show just from purely SEEING the show? (*coughAFewMoreTimesThanIWouldHaveCaredToSeeItcough*)

Also... BEWARE OF "BAL-BEC BY THE SEA!" IT'S EVIL AND *WILL* remain embedded in your brain for ALL of eternity!

*Daisy runs into a corner with her Daisy Hello Kitty doll and hides from the horror that is Albertine* Make it go away!!

Albertine is evil... EVIL, scarring show that left your dear Daisy ready to claw her eyes out. Emily scarred me in that show for reasons you can't possibly understand unless you've SEEN the show. LOL.

I don't think she liked the show very much... lord knows why she did it. Work is work, right? Whatever pays the bills!

HAHHAHA LMAO Reminds me of "The Hot Seat"

So I finally get Balbec by the Sea out of my head and now I have I Want You stuck in my head.. CRIPES!!! re: re: re: re: re: My Life With Emily?

Yes, that was a severely scarring show for SO many reasons... but yet we both saw it more than once.. it was kinda like a train wreck... scary and alarming, but you couldn't help but look. lol

Hahha I don't even know where to begin with describing it.. I blocked out most of Albertine... Daisy -- help me out here.. you saw it more times than I did. lol

to quote a friend of mine in telling me what the show is about:

"boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy loses girl. Girl could be gay, could be bi, we never really find out"

it's not her fault,

and they will..fly away...

Oh, Lord... are you REALLY making me relive the nightmare?

Well, Emily basically played a lesbian lounge singer who was Albertine's mistress... possibly. As CJR said, we never really find out if ALBERTINE is in fact gay... it's kind of left to your imagination. However, Mlle. Lea was quite the horny little lesbian... felt herself up on more than one occasion... felt OTHER women up on more than one occasion. Sang about her thighs... about the 'hollow' between Albertine's thighs... and that's all I can force myself to remember without washing my eyes out with bleach.

"Sometimes..." *cries in fear*

I, er... uh.. don't know where to begin.... ? lol

I went to see Albertine because of Donna Lynne Champlin only. lol

The way the characters were written, some of the song lyrics, things they had some of the actresses do (ie, Emily and the Hot Seat) were just scarring and alarming.

Dammit, now I have "I Need Me a Girl" stuck in my head.. only it's mine and Daisy's revamped version titled "I Need Me a Man" lmao

Okay, I went for Emily, obviously. I would *never* have seen that show. I suppose I saw it for DL, too, given one of the times I saw it, Emily wasn't even in it... which made it MORE alarming, because Rena was FAR too sweet and naive looking for that role and made it more unbearable.

I hate all of those responsible (you know who you are!! No hiding!!!) for making me see that show more than once. It wasn't my fault... I swear. LOL. The first preview was the only time I'll take full responsibility for my actions!

That said, DL was the only female I could stomach watching in that show. LOL.

Somehow I found my inner Violet whilst viewing that musical. And it went something like this...

Daisy: "I'm scared, Riri..."
Flaemmchen: "Of what?"
Daisy: "Emily's underwear!"

Emily has taken on the nickname of Thighs, due to her apparent on-stage fascination with them. (And due to a certain someones nightmare where Emily was just... a big thigh.)

*runs to find the bleach*

Someone make it go away! Make it stop!! MAKE IT STOP!!!

Clearly, I'm scarred.

Can I just TELL you what a relief it was seeing Emily in No Strings?

We'd explain the show if we could... but some of the people IN the show couldn't even explain it.

Alarming little show it was...

Hahhaha, yes, this is very true. However I hadn't talked to everyone *in* the show which is why I worded it like that.

In a roundabout way, it probably made some sense to the author... crips -- he should have enlightened us lmao
