What shows have you seen in other countries?

You must die to live forever I will show you the depths of the night We can never go wrong together I will take you to the end of the line My eyes are like a shadow on you

Hmmm. I've seen Phantom in both London and Vienna, Austria (the latter in German). I've also seen Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (with Philip Schofield), The Lion King, Lady Windemere's Fan, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and All's Well That Ends Well with Dame Judi Dench, all in London.

Some shows in the West End- Blood Brothers, All's Well That Ends Well (with Judy Dench), Grease, The Reduced Shakespeare Company, Jerry Springer The Opera, The Mousetrap and The Pillowman (great play..I'm so glad it's coming to Broadway). I was in Spain and I almost saw Phantom of the Opera in Spanish...

I usually go to shows only on Broadway and in London regularly. But when LES MISERABLES was showing in Paris ( the Cameron Mackintosh version), I saw it in its locale! It was all in French, but having seen the show several times before, it was fun to follow the show only half understanding ( or less re: Shows in other countries)the lyrics.

We do have a fairly active theatre community here in the Philippines ( where the likes of Lea Salonga and Joanna Ampil came from) but staging big production musicals is increasingly rare because of the costs. We did have a 6-month run of Miss Saigon and a successful one of Les Miserables - both under special permission from Mr. Mackintosh.

In August this year, Lea is performing in a musical called "BABY", together with David Shannon who is a West End star ( he created the original lead role in A BEAUTIFUL GAME).

Saw Kristina från Duvemåla, by Abba-Bjørn and Benny, in Stockholm twice...heard rumours that it will be coming to Broadway soon....hope so...it is an amazing show...far superior to both Chess and Mamma Mia....re: Shows in other countries

Well I'm from Mexico so I've seen LOTS shows here, my favorites are the ones starring Lolita Cortes (she's amazing, she's also one of ALW's faves) specially Phantom of the Opera and Beauty and the Beast (Christine Daae/Belle). Also Les Miz (who is running now) is pretty great!.

If you want to go somewhere else to see some theatre, try to come to Mexico, there's a lot of talent down here. Right now we have Joseph and the amazing..., Les Miserables & West Side Story (those are like the big ones) also Menopause the Musical.

I'd be happy to give you tours of the city or introduce you to the cast or anything, but PLEASE support Mexican Theatre lol

Thanks,
Monica
