i just heard that patrick wilson will be playing raul,(from "leomaxfrank") and last i checked, minni driver was christine, but what is the story on the rest of the cast, who is the phantom?

Go to search on the left hand side of the screen and enter in something such as "phantom film"

If you go to www.imdb.com and do a search for Phantom of the Opera under "all (old)" you'll find a listing for the Phantom film, which has all the cast information.

Phantom = Gerard Butler
Christine = Emmy Rossum
Raoul= Patrick Wilson
Carlotta = Minnie Driver

if you want a list of the other actors I'll post it,I just don't know their names off the top of my head.

Emmy's 17... Gerard is in his late 20's (??) and Patrick turned 30 in July... I can't wait to see how they closed the age gap between a 17 year old Christine and a 30 yr old Raoul who were supposed to be childhood sweethearts. Make-up, lighting, camera angles I guess.

Gerard is 34 years old....just fyi....I really like him tons, but will see about this Casting.....who knows...he sang in his old rock bands but this is soooooo different

Vocal tidbits:

From what I've heard on the different boards, set-insiders say that Emmy was wonderful and more than held her own. Patrick was "stunning" to use their term and Gerard could handle the basics but will be enhanced as needed.

Minnie Driver is being dubbed or ultra-enhanced.

This should be quite a production. And, I'm hoping there's no underlying creepiness when seeing these two 30+ yr old guys pining after and battling over a Christine who is young enough to be a high school senior!

Ah, the "magic" of Hollywood. LOL!

Although I do like him, its a shame he will need vocal enhancement. I am not surprised by that info

I bet Banderas was disappointed, but his price tag was too high

OMIGOSH. Do you know how many folks will want to get their hands on that? The movie doesn't open until December!

When is the auction?

(I just checked the on-line list and found that Patrick donated an autographed photo from "The Alamo"--which opens in three weeks.)
