I agree with Schindler's List. Too much sadness. I'll never forget how they made the picture in black and white except for the little girl in the red coat. That was sad.

I do not think I could sit through The Passion again. That was painful for me.

Movies I remember seeing many times were:

Fiddler on the Roof

LA Confidential

Others will eventually come to mind.

Prince of Tides

Seven

Also on the list:

Selena
Big
The Princess Bride
and of course, TITANIC! =)

I love Fried Green Tomatoes and A River Runs Through It.

This is completely random but I can always watch that movie with Albert Brooks and Meryl Streep called Defending Your Life. It is very much a B movie but I love Meryl when she sucks up that long strand of pasta and gives Albert Brooks the "thumbs up"...she's wonderful:)

In addition to Fried Green Tomatoes and A River Runs Through It, I've embraced The American President, Dirty Dancing, A Circle of Friends, Running on Empty, and Dances with Wolves. It's not even based on quality. They are each now so familiar and in a way, filled with 'friends' (the characters, not the actors), that one need not watch them...just having them on is company.

If you want to a great and carefree time in front of your TV, watch these movies:

As Good As It Gets (A biting, hilarious Oscar winner. Helen Hunt is amazing)

Clueless (The best teen film ever made, IMHO)

Finding Nemo (Enough said)

Jackie Brown (A sharp, entertaining crime caper)

Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (A stylish, balls-to-the-wall action flick)

Legally Blonde (A fluffy and adorable as they come)

Matchstick Men (A pure rush of adrenaline)

Never Been Kissed (Why does no one like this movie? A triumph for Drew Barrymore!)

Ocean's Eleven (Also see Jackie Brown)

The Passion of the Christ (Just kidding)

Pirates of the Caribbean (Not a great movie, but quite fun)

Rat Race (The funniest film of 2001)

Scream trilogy (A great mixture of laughs and thrills)

The Wedding Singer (Aside from Punch-Drunk Love, Sandler has never been in a better film)

You've Got Mail (One of Meg Ryan's best. A warm-hearted masterpiece)
