I just finished listening to the London recording. It reminds me of Moulin Rouge. I don't think I like it, but of course I won't judge from the CD. Any thoughts on this anyone?
Personally I like the show. For those of you who can get to a copy of the CD (or listen on Broadway Radio), the better tracks are:
Like an Eagle Shakalaka Baby Only Love How Many Stars The Journey Home
Only Love is such a powerful song in performance. When I saw it in previews it was Act 1 finale, and it made such an amazing finale. I think they changed it, I can't be sure. When it was sung, it absolutely blew me away. I have never heard a performance that will match the emotion contained in her voice. The CD doesn't do it justice.
As for the score itself, it has a very urban Indian sound.
i come from the uk as many of you know now...when i first saw this show i thought yeah its ok.....but the 2nd time i went....i went to seea friend in it and boy was it C*ap! the cd makes out there is a big Orchestra but when you get to the theatre there is half the instruments missing! i dont think this show will last much longer on the west end....and i dont think it will last too long on broadway when it gets there ! ! !
ALW produced Bombay Dreams and was with the project from the word go, in fact it's based on an idea he came up with.
As for it not lasting much longer in the West End, it's almost into its second year now and is hardly ever at TKTS or heavily discounted. The show is a hit.
ok maybe a.l.w did do more with the show....but i find it funny you say it never at tdiscount tickets places because there are always doing the offer of top price tickets for £25.....so you can go much cheaper and ALSO last saturday when i went to we will rock you....believe me or not but they where giving two free tickets to bombay dreams wi every ticket sold!!!
well this is what it said at the dominion last saturday!!! really it said get two free tickets for this top show when you buy tickets for we will rock you.....so bombay dreams cant be going that well!
