On Laura's website it is posted there is a possible mention of her being considered for Guenevere in Camelot the revival?

They also mentioned that Liam Neason is being considered for a part.

I think Sutton would also be a great Guenevere!

Benanti is gorgeous and I like her voice, she makes a good Madam G.

When is Camelot expected? Sutton already has a show for next season...Little Women. She can't play everything at the same time!

I've never thought of Guenevere as being a belter!

"What Do the Simple Folk Do?"
"FORGET ABOUT THE BOY!!!!"

Despite all of the Benanti-Bashing in the past, I think Laura would be better cast as Guenevere. Updated On: 2/19/04 at 04:34 PM

laurabenanti.com also works.

I'm not sure when Camelot is expected, but I can already hear Laura's beautiful voice singing that score. She would make a wonderful Guinevere, so hint hint to the potential producers who often take advice from our boards re: re: re: re: re: Laura Benanti

Laura's often seen as being bitchy because of the way she behaves at stage doors. But let's not dredge up the old arguments, because we've done this over and over again.

Well, I'm a belter and I played Guenevere in high school. (And it *is* spelled Guenevere in the script, though I know in many Arthurian legends its spelled with an 'i'.)

Contrary to popular belief, some belters are versatile and can't get through an entire song without belting one note! 'Magine that. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Laura Benanti I actually think Sutton would be interesting take on the role, acting wise.

I think Laura would be good, too, and probably the more likely choice of the two.

I certainly hope she doesn't sign on for this one and then decide to drop out a week later. It seems like her bitchy attitude is carrying over to her rep as an actress and dependability. I love her look and voice, but she needs to start taking this business seriously and when she commits, stay with it. I don't know all of the background with her rep, but from what I have heard, she can be quite the diva and pisses people off. I just hope her finding stardom and success at such an early age doesn't taint her so quickly in a still growing career.

I'm sorry but I don't know what your talking about actorgaedu...are we even talking about the same Laura Benanti?? She denfinetly is taking the business seriously! So she dropped out of "The Violet Hour"...who cares? Actors do it all the time! She is amazing and beautiful! Also, I just met Laura for the first time last night at the Embrace! concert and she was absolutely lovely! She was one of the nicest Broadway performers I have ever met. She was very down to earth , and very nice to talk to. There was nothing "bitchy" or diva about her at all. Not only would she blow any other actress out of the water as Guenevere , but she could also do a great Millie to rival Foster! She can belt, as she proved at last night's concert singing with former-Millie man Gavin Creel. Updated On: 2/20/04 at 02:57 PM

Okay, I got blasted for this on another similar site which will remain nameless, but speaking as one of Laura's close friends, she is not only one of the most talented individuals I have ever had the privilege of knowing personally, but she is also one of the kindest, sweetest, most sincere people I have ever known. She takes her craft very seriously, and is constantly working on her skills as a performer. As to rumors you may have heard about her being a diva or a bitch, they are categorically untrue. As performers, we want to work in a professional atmosphere and deserve to be respected as artists and individuals. When someone has the self-respect to stand up for themselves and call a spade a spade, they should not then be labeled as difficult or as a "diva." And I also find it ridiculous that someone can pass such a huge judgement about someone whom they have never met. Please reconsider posting such negative comments about something you don't know firsthand about...it is only damaging and creates negativity that is unbecoming.
