Barbra Streisand is getting ready to tell her life story. Penguin Random House will release the music legend's memoir, 'My Name Is Barbra', on November 7, 2023. Pre-order the book in the US and internationally.

While this will be Streisand's first memoir, she previously released 'My Passion For Design' in 2010.

This has been years in the making!

I am beyond excited. It's also going to be a doorstopper if the 1040 page count on the Amazon listing is correct! 2023 is a great year for memiors...first Chita's and now Babs!

Will BARBRA read her memoir?   Will we get a book signing?

I can’t imagine she wouldn’t read it. And it would be the book signing of ALL book signings if that happened.

YES please.

I'm praying Barbra tells all...the unvarnished truth about her remarkable life.

I expect the book to have a vaseline covered view of her life but I’m still 1000% here for it.

I stood in a very long line for a very long time to have Ginger Rogers sign her autobiography.  But for Streisand, I would be willing to camp out on the street overnight.

In the past few years she’s since been overtly frank about herself and her life so the timing of this memoir is perfect as she started writing this heading into her 80s.  Had she written this 30-40 years ago (when she was 40-50 years old), it would be a totally different memoir.

^ That’s very fair. No matter what it is, it’ll be iconic, though.

I feel like she is also someone who cares about her image, and how she is perceived...especially remember in the mid 2000's she wore that sailor suit outfit everywhere? Like buy more clothes, Barbra

I hope she breaks it up into multiple books (like Julie Andrew’s has) so she can go into detail about each section of her life and career.

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

the 2000s sailor suit era was a callback to her debut when she used to wear variations on that sailor suit everywhere. returning to that iconography coincided with a general embrace of her status as an elder statesman.

Her life has been a reflection of America from the sixties to now, and I love her.  However, I would hate to be her editor!

You think she couldn’t go on and on about her life up to Funny Girl in that amount of pages? 😉

My understanding as of a few years ago was that this went from her childhood through her “The Artist as Citizen” speech she gave at Harvard in 1995.

When I had heard that the book was approx 850 pages, so hopefully with 200 additional pages she decided to go a bit further, otherwise she may have added to earlier parts.

Keep in mind the cover photo on Amazon and other sites IS NOT the photo which will be used. According to someone on her team, they tweeted the final cover art has not been chosen.

I would find it hard to believe that Barbra, the perfectionist, and after having worked on this book for decades, would release a placeholder cover?

Tracy from Team Barbra confirmed yesterday that the cover art for the book hasn't been determined yet.

Barbra said in early 2019 that she had wanted to do 2 volumes.  First volume would be her early career, and the second volume would pick up where the first volume left off.  But, the publisher didn't want that.

I worked with a cousin of That Streisand Woman and she shared lots of stories about the family. It'll be interesting to read the book and learn whether their versions line up.

I think the problem with 2 volumes is you have to hope everyone will buy 2 books. Might as well release one large book...but that's just my opinion.

Although, if Andrew Lloyd Webber coud release his second volume, I'd be happy. I don't want to read about the hits, Andy. I want the flops!
