I had the pleasure of seeing him in the pre-Broadway tour ofOn Golden Pond(more years ago than I wish to count). He was still doing autographs at the time and was quite gracious, but tried to keep the line moving. I was near the front of the line and as I walked away, I noticed many, many, younger folks with Star Wars related items. I was pretty cerian none of them saw the show. (I didn't see Playbills in their hands) and I bet a fair number of them were getting the autograph so they could turn around and sell the item. I think things like that (including, of course his age, etc) may have played into the decision. Its one thing to sign Playbills for audience members when the Playbill will likely become a momento. Quite another thing to essentially give autographs so the autograph-seeker can make money-particularly when they haven't come to the show.

Oh i wouldn't sell this-I saw him in...Nice Work if You Can Get It? I saw him in something and I found the playbill so I want to see if he would sign it. I have an extra playbill of a show he was in that I did not see, but maybe if I send it to him, he'd sign it (fingers crossed!)

Anything not associated with the show isn’t signed, even if a person shoves it in the actor’s face. I remember walking past the Marriott Marquis stage door during Reba McEntire’s run in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN and an announcement was made that she would only sign items from the show and would not be posing for photos."

This is not some commandment Moses carried down on a tablet. Depends on the actor. Barry Humphries will sign anything, and he will sign as Barry Humphries if you want, even when he's appearing as Dame Edna.

It has already been reported (MANY TIMES) in this thread that Mr. Jones is no longer signing any items sent to him and you are STILL trying to send something for him to sign? Absolutely delusional. Please respect the man and don’t. He’s 91 years old and shouldn’t be worrying about signing your silly memorabilia. Like you always say about stagedooring, a signed playbill doesn’t come with the price of admission.

1. Did you know that if you think I’m asking silly questions, you can-OMG-keep scrolling?

2. what on earth is with the snark? Silly memorabilia? Is that what you say every time someone gets merch from a a show?

3. Seriously. What is wrong with you? Learn some respect or leave me alone. I’m well aware that a signed playbill doesn’t come with the price of admission. I never said I expected one you dingbat. Seriously you need to like get some friends or a hobby other than being incredibly rude.
