Advice for canceling trip

Sadly, I may have to cancel my upcoming trip. Does anyone have any advice about how to hopefully not totally lose everything on the tickets I have?  Two were purchased through Telecharge (Potus and A Strange Loop) and the other is Seat Geek (Into the Woods).  I know I can post the Seat Geek one for resale, but has anyone had any experience getting refunds with them or with Telecharge for that matter?  For the telecharge tickets, how do I go about reselling them if I can't get a refund. Stub hub?  I've never had to do this before and am not looking to make a profit, just to recoup at least some cost if it turns out I can't travel.  Thanks in advance!

There is a buy and sell section listed under chat   Post here what tickets you have and the dates, section, etc.   Good chance someone will buy them from you without having to list them.  StubHub has big fees.

I've heard on this board that Telecharge is very amenable to refunds - especially if you blame COVID (though that depends on how much time is between the day you call for refund and when the show is, so use that excuse with caution).

While I loathe being dishonest, I've used COVID as an excuse before (Helps that I'm a medical professional and chances are I've been exposed at any given time).

With Telecharge, it almost always works, especially if you have another date in mind to exchange it for - although SeatGeek was such a friggin' headache and they had to kick it up the ladder to even CONSIDER me to get a credit for my ITW ticket. (Ended up selling it to my friend at face value). Second Stage was also good about exchanging a ticket I had for TAKE ME OUT so I could pick a date to take my Mom while under the 30under30 umbrella

I honestly miss the exchange/refund self-service for Telecharge because that made navigating buying tickets so much easier, especially when I had to move show dates around to accommodate my surgery.

If push comes to shove, you might want to contact Clayborne Elder in Instagram. He has an organization that treats people to Broadway shows when they can't afford it. He would put those tickets to good use.

I just had to do this last month, caught COVID 2 days before embarking on 4 shows in 3 days in 2 cities. I was able to change all of them for little to no charge. I think it's easier if you have a date in mind to reschedule to, but even if you need to straight cancel, I think most theaters are being more lenient on allowing it to happen. The issue I encountered was getting someone on the phone, that was the most difficult. 2 shows I was able to talk to someone, 2 I had to deal with Ticketmaster (oy vey) online only. But, diligence is key!

The OP is trying to get their money back.

"I loathe being dishonest", but I will be dishonest when it comes to petty cash.

POTUS is closing this weekend so that might be tough to get a refund for.

I think if you call telecharge for A Strange Loop they will exchange it for a future date.

If they don't budge, then sell them on stubhub or through here (to save on fees.) Note though if you have over $600 in gross sales on stubhub, they'll send you a 1099-K.

Good luck! Nowadays I advise my friends to buy tickets once they arrive in NYC. In your case, both POTUS and A Strange Loop aren't sold out so it would have been easy to get tix for those shows on day of performance.  Good luck!

Thanks everyone!  It looks like I am going to be able to go, but it was touch and go for a bit and I really appreciate all the good advice.
