Because the times isn't a rave. Its mostly positive with great pull quotes.

I could have used a bit more brain, though; “& Juliet” sometimes seems suspicious of its own intelligence, like a nerd invited to the cool kids’ party, only to get drunk and vomit in the pool.

By including this line, Green clearly is saying he has some if minimal issues with & Juliet. He also openly says how much he dislikes the shows sound design, which is rare for a review to mention.

I was there today for, what I assume is Ms. Webb's first performance.  It was clear there was some hesitancy on the mechanics of the part at times (a flubbed line or two and some looking back at the dancers around her for choreography cues) but her line delivery and singing were very winning.  There's a star there with a couple more performances under her belt!

The show itself took some time to set itself up and could use a better opening number, but gradually won us all over.  It was a great time and the cast was uniformly excellent.

I saw this yesterday and just loved it to pieces. Such a fun, fresh, high-energy show. None of the songs feel shoehorned into the story. The entire concept is just so clever and well-executed. I was bummed Betsy Wolfe was out as she was who I was most excited to see, but Tiernan Tunnicliffe did a fine job as Anne. If you're looking for a fun night out at the theatre, it doesn't get much more fun than this. I highly recommend seeing this one.

You saw a special performance, bwayphreak234, as Tunnicliffe and Michael Iván Carrier made their Broadway principal debuts... how was Carrier as May? I saw them swing on a couple weeks ago and I thought they did great. 

In addition, all five swings were on yesterday for the first time!

Hi fellow broadway lovers I am selling one ticket to & Juliet Saturday 12/10 at 8 PM. Unfortunately I have to attend a funeral that date so I’m no longer able to attend. It’s row AA left mezzanine seat 1 on the center aisle. I bought it for 262 (with fees) but I’m selling it for 220. PM me if interested!

Some of the songs seemed very slightly shorter live on Broadway than they were on the OWECR.

Wondering if you guys can clarify the & JULIET TodayTix lotto. is it just 9am rush tickets? Or is there a TodayTix lottery as well? I thought I read there was both, but I can only find rush ticket alerts on the app. Appreciate the help.

Speaking of, any trick to winning that thing? I've had success (with less popular shows...) but this one is killing me. I've clicked right at 9am on the first window, tried the second window countdown on the dot. I read on a different thread that someone eventually got them after continuously clicking even though "all tickets are being held".

I adored this show and want to see it every day lol

The one time I got through was when I started tapping incessantly where the ticket button would be while the countdown was still counting down. As soon as it hit 0 I got through.

But as to your other point, I've heard the same. I think it happens if someone gets a rush ticket but doesn't buy it and it releases.

I think you have to give yourself at least until 9:15 to officially give up. Don't just stop trying if you see all seats are being held. I kept the app open and kept pressing every few seconds or so. Someone released their seat and I jumped on it and got it. I also second the pressing the button before the countdown runs out tactic.

I’m glad everyone is enjoying the show. I wanted to love it when I saw it in London but it ended up being one of my least favorite things I’ve ever seen. God knows Broadway needs a big fun, splashy hit so nice to know I’m in the minority here .

That performance was…something. 
 

For those who know/have seen the show (not me, other than knowing and liking all of the songs covered in the show) - what numbers would you say are the strongest and should be performed on a show like this? It just seems like an odd Pitch Perfect (although far from it) performance with period style costumes. I was hoping to be excited and enticed to buy tickets but this was a swing and a miss for me in terms of promotion. I hear great things from friends so I want to like this.

I honestly couldn't get into it until "It's My Life."

The other standout numbers for me personally were probably "That's the Way It Is" and "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)."

I'm also in the minority here and was not blown away by this show. I guess I had such high expectations going after reading all the rave reviews but I left a bit underwhelmed. I also agree with a previous poster it was too preachy with the 'woke' stuff. At one point I turned to my friend and was like, ok we get it. It almost felt like the show was created for that purpose.
But it did have it's fun, entertaining moments for sure. If you want a fun and light hearted time at the theater this is definitely it.
I also don't understand how folks who hated Moulin Rouge loved this. IMHO Moulin Rouge was better.
