I was at the same performance and people, please go see this show. Yes, the book isn't the strongest thing and the plot could use some trimming but the highs absolutely outweigh the lows. The choreography is stunning and the 11 o'clock number is an absolute showstopper.

I saw it on Saturday and really loved it! Joaquina is phenomenal and I’m sad you missed her but Aisha is amazing. I saw her as Anna in Frozen and she absolutely blew me away. I agree the book has some issues but overall I loved the show. Totally cried and was so moved throughout the whole thing ♥️

At a performance of Beetlejuice, pre-Pandemic, they had to stop the show when Beetjuice (I am blanking who was performing that day because it wasn't Alex Brightman) got stuck halfway up on the wall in the back of the living room. He was supposed to come down to the floor and didn't. At first we didn't understand there was an issue, but then the actor began laughing, moving his arms and legs up and down and the rest of the cast broke character. It was about 15 minutes or so, but then they got it started again. Definitely happens, and I don't mind. It's live theater.

I saw two tech stops this season, the first in the final moments of Girl from the North Country, just before Winningham got to "Forever Young." When the show resumed after ten minutes, they backed up and did the entire sequence prior. Smart call, and the performance still worked beautifully.

At Strange Loop at a Wednesday matinee in June, same, only it seemed part of the show, the meta component baked in. The audience cheered and applauded until it was finally clear it was a real stop. It was quite lengthy about 15-18 minutes, but only 30 minutes in, and everything fell back into place.
