I guess we will see! I mean, if I saw him on a billboard, I'd assume he's Evan. But maybe the fans won't care.

I think those are all good points, and they will probably hinder it from being a total sell-out event. But again, I think the stunt-casting will help; even if they can get a bump of $75k-$100k a week, it could very well tip the balance for the show's momentary survival.

Great casting! For anyone who has seen the show recently (the last time I saw it was back in 2017) - did they get rid of Jared's "school shooter chic" line? It didn't land well in 2017. I hope they have got rid of it since.

It is still very much in the show and it's always interesting to see what reaction it gets from audiences.

I have not watched Stranger Things, but I saw Gaten in Priscilla and Les Mis and I'm so excited to see him as Jared. The role is such a perfect fit for him and as someone also from South Jersey, it's nice to see one of our own making it big.

It was removed from the show this week.
And I don’t believe the joke was ever intended to “land well” with the audience, it was there to establish Jared’s character.

ShowBro said: "Even with a new season of “Stranger Things” dropping this weekend, this show hasn’t been culturally relevant since it’s premiere in 2016. And I have heard zero people talking about it since 2017. I’ve also never heard of anyone going to see DEH solely based on who is playing Jared. But I guess GM is popular??"

It may not have been visibly "culturally relevant" since its debut, but its fans have stayed with it. You had to reserve a spot for the Stranger Things pop up store on 42nd this past year. Every time I passed it there was a line. I got in and it really wasn't worth it. Culturally relevant doesn't last long these days anyway with tv shows. I think they may get a small bump in sales. I just finished the episodes that dropped on Friday. Very long but the payoff at the end was well worth it and the story is good. His character this season is really annoying. If I had only seen him in this season, it wouldn't make me want to go see him in a show live! But being a fan of the show, I just might grab a ticket to see him. And it is not one of my favorite shows although I do like the score. JMO
