Jordan Catalano said: "Wasn’t Donna (along with Kelli) bumped up to a series regular for season 2?"

And a huge number of other players, many of whom were essentially already series regulars.

Anyway, I’ll be upset to not see Heather continue if this goes to Broadway. I thought she needed a little room to grow at first, but as the show went on she clearly was getting better and better and I imagine she’d only improve with the extra time on Broadway. I would be interested in seeing Renée in this role though, I could see her being great.

I just hope that whatever happens with the cast, Sara and Gavin don’t go anywhere. To me, their performances were the freshest and most exciting of a stellar ensemble in my eyes.

The short answer is tbd. Money has already been spent and hiring has already occurred. They still have a decent cushion of time if their aim is still 8 weeks from end of June till end of August.

I saw the rumour that originally Heather was on, but her schedule changed. That makes sense to me. Sweet Magnolias was renewed for a third season the day performances started for ITW. From what little I've seen of that show they seem to film exclusively in summer. So an 8 week run doesn't gel with that. Would've loved to see her again, but glad I got to catch the Encores run.

Getting Ashley and Renee would provide its own thrills, but I think Emily in Paris also films mostly in summer.

Not sure if this definitely means Christian Borle will be the new Baker (or if it means anything for that matter), but on the Little Shop website under cast he's no longer listed. It just has Andrew Call listed for Orin et al.

And what makes you say that? Everything I've heard since even yesterday was that the plan is still there.

You’ve said this twice now with absolutely nothing to back it up. If you know something we don’t, feel free to share.

Really best to trust no one with “insider information” at this juncture. What’s clear is that something was in flux  and people got ahead of the announcement. Would presume not happening but be hopefully optimistic.

If there are scheduling conflicts, I'd personally be happiest if they worked out a later date in which that wouldn't be an issue during the run and let them run closer to the Tonys

City Center tweeted a picture of the cast with the caption “no one leaves for good.” Take of that what you will.

Hillary Clinton “voiced” the Giant for the Arkansas Repertory that ran for about a month having just closed. I wonder if her Giant could be used if this does end up transferring?

I'd personally advise everyone to take every single post in this thread with a grain of salt.

The theatre industry is pretty much day-to-day right now, and things can change in a snap. Best to just wait and see what happens.

I would assume they'd just continue to use Annie Golden, she does a good job with it. I don't know how Hillary's voice acting was, but I imagine if they did use a big name voice over, it would be a professional actor.

No. I'm told her Arkansas "performance" only happened because the director is a friend of Chelsea's, and was also a wink to her old homestate. It would be a distraction more than anything on Broadway. Stock & regional theatres do stuff like this all the time –– Bob Costas voicing God in SPAMALOT at the Muny, for example, or local figures doing walk-on roles.

They're shooting Emily in Paris this summer so she's not available.

I am not sure what the purpose of an 8 week run would be unless the producers were convinced it would sell out during the summer. Part of what made it work at City Center was the casting. If some of them are not going to be in the limited transfer then I wonder if it will happen.

I believe that photo was of the cast with Rob Berman, who was retiring as musical director after several years.

Except they intentionally opened it off-Broadway for a commercial run to ensure it sells well, and also the original creators never wanted it on Broadway.

The Little Shop that's running now is not the same production as was at Encores in 2015, so this isn't accurate. A Little Shop on Broadway starring Jake could have made money. 100%.

Christian Borle is the luckiest person on Broadway.

So mediocre. So uninteresting.

IMHO

PS- NPH is NOT Chip Zien and neither is CB. You want perfection? Listen to the OBC!

I don't know if I'd like Borle as the Baker but he was my favorite part of Something Rotten and the only decent thing about the dreadful Charlie and the Chocolate Factory so I disagree.

But yes, Chip Zien is the greatest. His snub for a Tony nom is an all time snub IMO.
