Well, my long-awaited return to NY is finally locked in. I was initially supposed to visit the week of October 19th of 2020 in order to see The Music Man on Friday the 23rd of that year, but after everything got pushed back, Telecharge reset my tickets for St. Patrick's Day of next year, so my girlfriend and I set a trip from March 16th to the 20th of next year around the new date. We will be seeing a total of 5 productions during our visit.
Wednesday, March 16th - Company (Evening)
Thursday, March 17th - The Music Man (Evening)
Friday, March 18th - Six (Evening)
Saturday, March 19th - Mr. Saturday Night (Matinee)
Saturday, March 20th - Wicked (Evening) - I have seen the Original Cast back in the Spring of 2004, but my girlfriend has never seen the show, and she really wanted to see it.
Aside from the shows, just looking forward to being back in the city, and reconnecting with some friends who live in the area. Also managed to get a pretty good deal at my "home in New York" The Michelangelo Hotel on West 51st and 7th Avenue (Right behind the Winter Garden Theatre.), which has been where I've stayed since December 2007, with 4 nights for $782. (Considering that currently the room I booked for those exact same dates is now going for $1,237 for 4 nights, I'm very glad I booked when I did, and got the $782 deal.)
We will also be taking a week-long cruise in 3 weeks (this was also pushed back from 2020), so with these two trips coming up, we are very grateful to start traveling again.
So exciting! My long awaited return trip to NYC starts tomorrow! I will be seeing Company, Caroline, or Change, Hadestown, Flying Over Sunset, and Chicago!

Keiichi2, How did your cruise company explain covid tests and ports of call. Most ports of call are requiring a covid test 48 hours prior to visit, even if vaccinated. When I questioned it they couldn't answer me. Prices of cruises are really inexpensive now, but it doesn't matter if I can't visit a port.

I think it depends on the cruise line. We are sailing with Royal Caribbean, and they do the negative test 48 hours before boarding the cruise. If you are vaccinated, you don't need additional testing after that. I think unvaccinated children have to do additional tests, so if you're traveling with kids, that might be an issue. The cruise lines usually have a page on their website with protocols about their testing requirements, and they're usually pretty detailed, so that would be the best bet to look up, since it varies.
Yeah, besides the fact that the covid pandemic isn't over yet, many countries worldwide are opening their borders for tourists. Almost entire Europe is free to travel if you possess a Covid certificate. It means that you should be fully vaccinated or present a covid negative test that is valid for 72 hours. Still, it happens that they don't verify the covid certificate. When I visited Germany, I used https://www.dbauskunft.com/de/ train, and no one there asked for my covid certificate.
