Observer is a rave:

“For that scene alone, the show should move to Broadway and let’s polish a figurine for McAvoy. ”

I give Entertainment Weekly a D- as a publication.

I really love the way Helen Shaw writes. Rave from her in Vulture.

I agree with you about Entertainment Weekly (now Entertainment Monthly).  I have subscribed since the beginning of its publication date and JUST this week, I got a postcard saying it is over. Not sure if they are going digital only or if the whole thing is ending.  At one time, it was good journalistically.  Now it is a combination of Parade Magazine and TMZ, with not a lot of quality journalism.

With raves like this, any word that they might extend? Coming to NYC on June 1, would hate to miss this, love McAvoy.<

Has anyone successfully gotten Today Tix rush tickets? Seems like they go within a second. I clicked on buy tickets the second the countdown got to 0:00 and it still said all seats were accounted for and kept saying that until it changed to sold out.

If there’s only ~10 seats available, that means only 5 people will get them. Safe to assume hundred(s) are trying, so your odds are not great. You will get it one day, I don’t think there is a secret. The system just chooses.

I rushed for Cyrano and ended up getting a ticket! The first time I hit it, it said all tickets were claimed but than I exited and tried again and snagged one for the 1:30pm. I ended up being the first (cushion seat) person to be seated and they said you could take whichever cushion you want, just so you know if you go! There is 8 cushions, and I don’t know if it’s like this for every performance but it seemed there were 4 people who had single tickets and 2 people that were able to snap 2 tickets. So you might be better trying for one ticket!

This production is not to be missed. McAvoy would have the Tony already engraved if this were on Broadway. Get a ticket while you can!

I'm very glad I bought my row A side orchestra for $105 the day they went on sale. Now I'm just hoping that COVID doesn't strike before I get to go.

Agreed, a show not to be missed. James McAvoy is phenomenal. His performance in Cyrano might be the best performance from any actor I have ever seen on stage. Hopefully he gets some other recognition for Off-Broadway shows.

I was skeptical about this production, it seemed a bit out there and pretentious to me but i was proven wrong. It was beautiful, funny, poetic and very moving.
I’ve rarely experience a mix of laughter and silence like that. In some parts, it’s as if the audience were holding their breath and just listening intently to every single word.
Got tickets again to see the final show, can’t wait!

James McAvoy is a revelation in this production, and his characterization fits quite nicely with Lloyd's vision. The ensemble of actors is very connected and bring the piece to something that feels spiritual. I cannot recommend this enough. I sat in the Today Tix "onstage" seating and I really recommend trying for those tickets, the experience was phenomenal.

The shimmer of tears in McAvoy’s eyes will never leave me. They will be forever seared into my theatrical memory.

I agree his emotion was incredible. He could go from crying, to angry to in love in a instance! You can totally  see how he did Split now! And yes the today tix rush experience is something not to be missed. What’s the chance this transfers to Broadway? He deserves a Tony and I’m so sad he won’t get one because it’s off Broadway.

Trying to help a friend sell his seat for tonight's 7:30p show. He has it listed on StubHub just to break even, but there haven't been any takers yet. Amazing seat orchestra B 1, $183.50. I have the PDF to forward, so let me know if interested.

I have listed a single ticket on the "BUY & SELL" board for this Sunday, 5/15. Excellent ticket (Orchestra row K, center) and selling for the purchase price.

Saw the matinee today. First time in that venue and what a tremendous show, moved quickly with the audience totally enrapt the entire time. And while all the superlatives are understandably being aimed at McAvoy, I have to give attention to his Roxanne and Christian. Evelyn Miller and Eben Figueiredo - such phenomenal work - and the rest of the ensemble. Every one of them is a star in their own right.

I listed a balcony row A ticket on stubhub for $75 and it sold almost immediately.  I had listed it as low as $95 (break even with fees)  with no takers.  You have to find that psychological point where they can’t resist and not worry about getting back your money.  A partial return is better than zero.

Did anything change with the rush process? Been on todaytix to get them at 10am but they haven't released any tickets this morning.
