Apparently they started rehearsals today? Or at least had a meet and greet.

Anyone know any casting decisions?!

Is this tour Equity or non-Equity?

Meg is probs not involved with this as she was on B'way, so I don't want to get any deets from her.

It's Equity - It's listed on IBDB which, as far as I know, only shows AEA productions. No casting announcement yet although Jack Lane (producer) and Matthew Sklar (writer) did post photos. Casey Nicholaw is in one of the pictures from today, speaking to the cast.

This is an Equity tour produced by Networks. It's also listed on Equity's website as such. I wonder if any major players are playing the Broadway stars? I'm very curious.

Dying to know who will be DeeDee. In my dreams it was Rachel York, but if she's doing Anything Goes I assume that's not happening.

Interestingly, that Instagram post says the first stop is Cleveland. The Prom website doesn't list stops, but Tours To You has a one-night stop in Paducah, KY, on 10/30 before it goes to Cleveland. The Carson Center website in Paducah lists it as well, and has a "buy tickets" link, although that link doesn't seem to actually go anywhere, it just redirects back to the same page.

It has kind of a weird schedule for a first year equity tour - stops in Bloomington, IN (for 2 nights), Hershey, Schenectady. The Paducah stop would be the weirdest but nothing on their site suggests it's been cancelled.

I don’t believe tours note the city they are teching at on their websites. Similarly, Hadestown is teching at The Proctors theatre in Schenectady, but it’s not included on their tour website.

It's weird that Tours to You has it listed for The Prom, since it doesn't have Hadestown's tech site. And the Proctors website doesn't list Hadestown at all (other than its anticipated 2023 run) while the Carson Center prominently displays The Prom as part of their event calendar (and it's the main thing up on their front page). I still think it's weird that cities like Bloomington and Hershey are getting it in its first year instead of Philly or Pittsburgh or Columbus. But hey, I'm close enough to Bloomington to take advantage and already grabbed a front row ticket, so I'm not actually complaining. It's just odd.

Maybe it’s going out on a lower tier Equity contract. I guess since it wasn’t a hit on Broadway .

I believe the audition notice said it was either SETA tier 3 or 4. Can someone with more knowledge of touring contracts clarify that? I know what a SETA tour is but I can't find much info about the 'tiers.'

According to a Backstage audition posting for dancers, it's an "Equity Short Engagement Touring Category 3" contract

I had an interview for one of the ASM positions on this tour and can confirm that it is indeed going out under the SET agreement. Paducah is the tech city with one preview performance there before they move to Cleveland for the official opening.

For the poster who asked, the different tiers of the SET contract are determined by several factors, with the main one being the average weekly guarantee. There are other factors that can make adjustments to that determination, but when all is said and done the guarantee is the most important one.

So basically a leg up from a non-equity bus and truck?

To answer the question on Hadestown teching in Schenectady, the routes, which have been redrawn 6 times since Covid, were drawn, the version they are going with, in such a way that the producers are, essentially, renting Proctors as a tech venue, with no public performances, then coming back as a regular guarantee tour stop later in the route. The same is happening there for Ain't Too Proud at the end of this year.

The Prom is teching out in Paducah, at the Carson Center which is, physically, the Cadillac of one-night venues, and playing one public performance to go into the venue's season of one-nighters, then moving on to Cleveland for their 3-week subscription season to officially open.

A leg up but, unlike some of the other tours which are out on lower tier SETA contacts, like Jersey Boys and Beautiful, at least, for sake of sanity of the actors, the first year routing is full and multi-week stops, no one-nighters, other than the preview show.

Definitely one of the better SETA contracts. They have mostly 5 or more days in most cities and really nice sit downs in San Francisco and LA. Some of those other tours are like TYA contracts that have them traveling every other day.

Hasn't the country suffered enough? There is no need to inflict this so-so show on the rest of the country.

I love how they're still using the hilarious poster of Kinnunen during "The Acceptance Song." Look closely in the background of linked post and you'll see it.

Yeah, I've been checking the show's socials every so often today but nothing yet. They're already in rehearsal though so it's only a matter of time, I guess.
