I had further edited my previous post with that a while ago. Philip Hernandez as well.

Manu is great, and reunited with his one-time stage love Anisha. Pretty cool.

As one of the few ardent fans of Bombay Dreams, I squealed with this news.

Not a fan of the Manu casting. Feels too old.

Oh see I felt the opposite! I feel like the boyfriend who's breaking the news that he's settling down should be someone who maybe is a little older. Someone who is done gallivanting around nyc. I think once they saw they had a couple of people to replace in the show the changing of which role understudied someone else probably helped, too. They weren't trying to get someone who could also understudy Elder, which I'm guessing was part of Massey's track. Manu probably will learn one of the husbands and one of the new men in the ensemble will understudy Elder.

Agreed. I think the “boyfriends” are parts that can be cast any variety of age and type proving that Bobbie really doesn't know what she is looking for. Theo being older makes sense to me since he clearly has a vision of his future.

As far as coverage goes…if you look at pre-pandemic…the only principals covering other principals would be Jennifer Simard (Joanne) and Nicki Rene Daniels (Bobbie). The other coverage comes from the “New Yorkers/Understudies. Not sure if this will change for the return.

Yeah, Massey didn’t cover Elder. Massey likely auditioned for Andy, and was cast as Theo instead. It always felt like a “consolation” to me as he was so wasted in the role. I will miss the chemistry between Elder, Conte, and Massey in Drive a Person Crazy, they were on FIRE.

Hoping the new trio will be equally as exciting.

Without the typical tiktok dance solo the role of Theo really does become a bit of a throw away, unfortunately.

Nolan LuPone said: "Hey everyone,
I am looking into getting tickets to Company on Broadway because I really want to see Patti live on stage. Does anyone know if Dec. 18 (9 days after opening night) is a reasonable date to see her? Thanks :)
"

Isn't it true that when a performer's name is above the title, a patron can request a refund or exchange if they don't show on the night of the patron's ticket?  Isn't her name above the title like Hugh Jackman is over the title for MM?   Also, most shows are offering refunds up to the date of the show.  This is Telecharge. Refunds are flexible. This is posted on the Company ticket page.

"Buy with ConfidenceBuy tickets now for any performance through January 17, 2022, and you can either refund or exchange your tickets into any other date until 48 hours before the performance. You may exchange an order up to three times and refund once per show per month. Terms are subject to change."

So if your time is flexible, show up early and if she isn't there that night, get a refund and try the next.

Thanks for clarifying! Really feels odd to me to have such a good actor in a role that is barely one scene and a trio of a song and not have him covering for someone else but that's just me lol. I guess Massey always struck me as a great cover for Elder.

I get what you're saying, but at the end of the day, it's a job. And one in an acclaimed production (that who knows how often it might be staged like this in the future) and with a star-filled ensemble. Not a bad way to earn a buck.
