Cicadas!

Yes. Weird topic for a Broadway message board (even in the off-topic section), I know. But over the course of the pandemic, I have grown quite closer to nature, and have developed a deep fascination for it. Over the past few months, I have been learning all about the Brood X cicadas, that surface every 17 years. I've been very excited for them to surface, and finally got to see my first few today.

Anyone else fascinated by them, or seen some yet? For the record, I completely expect most folks here to be creeped out by them (and no judgement here), and those comments are welcome as well! Any cicada discussion is fair game here.

It's not so much SEEING them but you'll be HEARING them. So far this part if Long Island is blessed with the sounds of silence.

I was just in Greencastle, Indiana where they are starting to hit. CBS Sunday Morning did a whole thing on Cicada cookies a few weeks ago.
