Okay.. I really want this to happen. And had to put it out into the universe.

Thats all!

Um. The revival needs a “name” above the title. As much as I adore Miriam Shor, loved her on YOUNGER, and agree she is indeed beyond perfection - she is not a “name” that goes above the title of a Broadway show. Even the majority of YOUNGER fans are oblivious to Sutton Foster’s credentials.

Jerry Herman always said Mame works best when played by a British woman. That said, Catherine zeta Jones would be perfect--if anyone would want to work with her.

Miriam would make an incredible Mame, but I agree she’s sadly not a big enough name to headline on Broadway. She would be a smash anywhere regionally, though. She would also be a fantastic Vera. Maybe she can play opposite the rumored Toni Collette? Or maybe if Sutton ever did Mame, we could have a Younger reunion. I’m definitely missing Miriam on this last season.

I’m so heartbroken she didn’t come back to Hedwig for even a few weeks. She’s so good.

Oh I know this will never happen. But I just love her and think she has all the role needs- the acting chops, the voice and a killer comic timing. In an ideal world...

She’s not in the last season?

Don't know that I agree Mame needs a name. I tend to think the age of "names," as we think of them, may be over with. And Mame is well enough known and loved that people will go to see Mame, not "X in Mame." If whoever X is gets good reviews, the show may sell. Of course, even with a name, it may not sell. Because everything is a gamble.

Not so far, she’s not. Except for one brief appearance on a FaceTime call.

Do you think Jane Krawkowski is a big enough name. SHE is my dream casting for the role. (Miriam as Vera?)

Unfortunately, due to scheduling and COVID Miriam Shor wasn’t able to accommodate the shooting schedule of YOUNGER so sadly, her character had to be written out and reduced, hence the FaceTime appearance.

Alison Janney!  Hadn't even considered her. But I think she may have that thing one needs for Mame.  The character has to be dizzily pretentious and warm at the same time. It's why she's such a magnificent character and needs a special kind of comic actress.

I really don't know if that's true. I never got to see the National Tour of HELLO, DOLLY! (although I had tickets for 5 consecutive performances in Philly before COVID struck) but I understand Caolee Carmello gave a knockout performance. Alas, she wasn't a "name" and the box office really suffered.

Miriam could play Vera Charles. Just a thought to all of the producers out there.

Perhaps COVID itself had something to do with that.

I adore Miriam Shor, but I don't see her as a Mame at all. Vera Charles, on the other hand, seems like a good fit.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body
