With all of these return dates being announced, I'm curious what everyone is prioritizing and excited to see first as their return to a Broadway/Off-Broadway theater.  I definitely wanted to see something on the first night, so I'll be at Wicked on 9/14.  Also booked a couple other first shows back in the following weeks.  So glad we're seeing these reopening announcements and moving toward the return of live performance.

I wanted to see Wicked it’s first night back, but 1. Too expensive 2. I actually want to HEAR the actors. So I’m not seeing the first night but the first week.

Also seeing Phantom (that moment when the chandelier rises....) and Come From Away. I’m going to wait on others because I want to help support off-Broadway. I don’t think those have been announced yet.

Waitin' it out. Definitely not going on night one for anything after such a tough time.

In the span of two days I got tickets for The Little Shop, Come From Away, and Phantom. Will be my 1st time seeing all three. I'm planning to definitely see Caroline or Change, The Music Man, Clyde's and MJ as soon as the tickets go on sale. I was lucky enough to see the "hottest" new shows in previews before the pandemic started, so I won't see them again any time soon. Six and the the 1st Company preview were the most memorable experiences, of course.

For the first night, I got “Wicked” tickets. I want to be in the room to hear G(a)linda say “It’s good to see me, isn’t it?” that first time back.

Indirectly related...but without skipping a beat, resales are already happening and of course it's highway robbery. Good to know, nothing has changed in that respect in a year and a half.

When we can make our first trip back to Broadway, a lot of shows we will be seeing will be ones we would have seen on our March trip before the shutdown (Moulin Rouge, Hadestown, Company). My friend and I will also be paying a return visit to Come From Away. I will be getting myself a ticket to Phantom - Phantom was my first true Broadway show (I never count Cats, lol), and because I've since seen it half a dozen times, I always end up putting off seeing it again on Broadway in favor of newer productions. After the shutdown hit, I vowed I'd get a ticket whenever Broadway reopened. Looking forward to it.

I was hoping to score tickets for Wicked on 9/14, but they were already gone by the time I checked this morning.

Not too upset about it, though, because I'll be at the two other first performances I've been dreaming about experiencing throughout this entire pandemic: Six on 9/17 and Company on 12/20.

Can't be at any of the "first" performances, but grabbed tickets for WICKED and LITTLE SHOP in October. I could almost cry I'm so excited!

I'm planning to be at one of the shows on Sept. 14 as well as Come From Away's first show back on Sept. 21.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Make sure you say hi, Jordan!! I’ll be there as well and will likely sob through the entire thing.

I also have Little Shop tickets for 9/21 and Company for 12/20. I’m so, so, so excited.

Based on what happened at the 30th anniversary, I'm expecting spontaneous, thunderous applause on the first note of the overture.

Hamilton on 9/14
Wicked on 9/15

Definitely looking forward to getting back to the theater a few times a week this fall. I've missed it so much.

Still, it does feel very strange to be buying tickets for a large indoor gathering after having avoided all people for the last year. Hopefully by September it will be completely safe to be in close quarters with others, even masked up. I'm fully vaccinated, thankfully, and I hope the vast majority of others at the theater will be too.

Just got an email from Telecharge that my 10/21 performance of Jagged Little Pill (first show back) won't take place. Anyone else?

Been refreshing Ticket Master all morning for Aladdin's first show back. All other dates are on sale now but not 28th. Seems like it's being held for now.

I don't have tickets for anything yet. Somehow I just can't muster up the excitement! (Plus I hate fees — which is why I love Disney's move to waive them until 2022.) But I'm happy for all of you.

So far opening shows of Six, Come From Away, Mrs Doubtfire, and Company… waiting patiently on Hamilton code if ever to arrive. Will secure something for 9/14 even if have to go resale as much as that’ll suck. Plan to see everything else but being more patient on dates.

Hamilton on 9/14! I hadn't seen the show live pre-covid, so I'm very excited for this.

I also have rescheduled Company tickets for post opening in January, and am mentally ready to buy Hadestown tickets whenever those dates are announced.

Welcome back everyone!

Just seeing this thread built around the term "first performance" reminds me of WhizzerMarvin, the best reviewer in all the land. Wonder where he is?

I;m also waiting for off-Broadway shows to announce their plans because I feel like they're going to need help. Second Stage, Playwrights Horizons, the Public, etc.

Whizzer stopped doing reviews fall of 2019 I believe. I think the last show he did a review for was The Inheritance, and nothing since. I miss him greatly.
