Absolutely no merit whatsoever, but I think it's a great idea. If Shanghai Disneyland can have sit-down productions of Beauty & The Beast and The Lion King, then Universal Studios would be a great home to the show. They could even cut it to a 90 minute version a la Vegas.

I'm actually all for this. The show belongs in a theme park, anyways. Not on Broadway.

I guess pull quotes still work. The author of this piece obviously didn't read the NYT review, which panned it, but based on the pull quote on the BJ website, they think it got a good review.

A (very) condensed version of Wicked ran at Universal Studios in Japan, so it wouldn't be without precedent, but in that case Universal was a lead producer on the show.

This would actually be brilliant. Whether or not there's merit to the story....definitely not a bad idea!!

Bad writing. The author first says that the NYT gave it a rave and under that the rave is attributed to the New York Post. Author is probably green enough to think that the NYT and the NYP are the same thing. See below:

The New York Times and Variety even raved about the show calling it a “jaw-dropping fun house”:

It’s official! “THE WHOLE WORLD LOVES BEETLEJUICE” (New York Post). Based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film, this hilarious new musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes. With an irreverent book, an astonishing set, and a score that’s out of this Netherworld, BEETLEJUICE is “SCREAMINGLY GOOD FUN!” (Variety). And under its uproarious surface (six feet under, to be exact), it’s a remarkably touching show about family, love, and making the most of every Day-O!
