Hi, I'm new in this forum and a HUGE musicals fan and Britney fan so I can't wait for ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME to finally open in Broadway - I came across with this page where it states that previews will begin on Feb 4, 2022 and official opening on Feb 25, 2022 at the Marquis Theatre https://www.nytix.com/shows/once-upon-a-time-one-more-time
Does anyone know if this info is accurate? I haven't heard anything from this musical since the pandemic hit and I'm trying to find any update!

I'm sure it's still happening, perhaps they're just trying to figure out the appropriate dates. Sony Pictures bought that rights for the film adaptation in 2019 so I would say this musical is pretty much still alive
Everything I've read about this show (or from people who attended the workshop[s]) said that it has a lot of potential. I read that the book was pretty strong (but there was one of the acts that needed work, like most shows) and the transitions/song selections were interesting in a good way. Sony bought the rights for a film adaptation before the show even has had a premiere. I wonder if they'd consider just filming the stage production after Hamilton's success, plus all of the #FreeBritney news lately.

I get the play on mashing "Once Upon A Time" with "Baby One More Time", but I agree with you that it is a little odd to say. Even a non-fairy tale title would work, in my opinion, but still finding a Britney song title or lyric that has a thematic element of the Feminine Mystique-ness that the show is going for. Maybe using an "ever after" monicker rather than "once upon a time."

I think the title is very clever actually, it gives this idea of a fairy tale re-written... we all know what happened in Cinderella's story, but what if Cinderella decides to change her destiny?
"Once upon... a one more time" fits perfectly imo!
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Between this, The Devil Wears Prada, and Some Like It Hot, only the latter will open cold on Broadway as of now. All three were slated for pre-Broadway tryouts in Chicago.
