I was sitting in a bar in Denver Colorado watching MNF when Howard Cosell announced to everyone that John Lennon had been shot and killed. I remember finishing my drink and leaving the bar immediately in sadness. Looking back, it was such a shame because Lennon had gotten back into making music again and who knows what more he may have done. Also, a wife and two young boys lost their father. It was incredibly sad that it happened in NYC which he had learned to love. For those of you not around at that time, it was such a tragedy to everyone especially my generation.
The Times posted a picture of Yoko and John with John holding Sean. It was just a little surreal looking at it as I met Yoko and Sean 3 years ago and chatted with them for a bit. I was a nervous wreck inside.
Just an aside....I lived in Denver for over 19 years. Wasn't there when Lennon was shot. I had just moved into my apartment in Philly when it happened.
https://shop.centralparknyc.org/. This Central Park store offers some cool John Lennon Central Park memorial gifts and the money goes to the Central Park Conservancy.

Was watching a morning news show and they referred to this site but gave the wrong information.
I may have to grab an Imagine Tee shirt and I like the lamp. I don't need another mug, but looking at that also.
"I lived on Cap Hill around the corner from "Queen Soopers" fro '91-2010. I miss it!"
Very cool area to live in, loved the Golden Dome capital. I lived in Denver 1979-85, the uptown places I liked to go to were "Marlowes" and "Josephina's" The fun places to go out to where I lived were "Knicks", "Proof Of The Pudding" and "No Frills Grill" - lol.

The bigger tragedy is who you've become, yankeefan. And I mean "you" in the general sense of Baby Boomers who bought into the entire Reagan myth and have crowed the gospel of selfishness ever since. Which of you horrid contemporary points of view overlapped with Lennon's? You should cancel culture Lennon's name from your mental rolodex.
