BCEFA Broadway Legends Ornament 2020: Norma Desmond

This year’s ornament is Glenn Close as Norma Desmond! Anyone going to purchase? I definitely will be, because Sunset is one of my favorite films and musicals, and I would like to support the industry during this season. I know some people collect all of these, which do you have in your collection already?

I for one love it, and mine is ordered! I would have preferred the costume for As If We Never Said Goodbye - but I still can’t wait for it to get here!

I think the costume is great, the face is bizarre. It looks like Lainie Kazan as Norma. I’ll buy it because it’s charity and I love SUNSET BOULEVARD. However, the other ornaments at least tried for a likeness. This one is a miss.

My first reaction was similar to yours, Bettyboy, in that I knew who it was because the costume details actually seem to be really well done, but the face looks like they painted some features on a thumb. They done Glenn dirty with this one.

Glen Hanson is the artist who’s work is used for these ornaments. Google him.

Ok, I will say that the ornament looks a little better in this photo at another angle. The one being widely circulated, which I think is also the image used on the BC/EFA site is not a good representation.
