They should add one of those hanging signs underneath the marquee that says "just you wait".

Yes that’s a good idea!

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Ohoho! Another reason for theatrical optimism at some point next year. We'll surely see this one come back "on the other side of the war."

I haven't really seen any old-school marquee upgrades (no video/"All In, NYC"Hamilton’s New Marquee since Moulin Rouge! put up a sign saying "Broadway will be back, Bohemians!" above the Hirschfeld entrance doors, and The Music Man installed their signage as well.

Oh look, a bibu!

I like the "Just You Wait" idea!

It'll be interesting to see if Broadway's Hamilton will still have the same demand it did before pandemic now that the OBC filmed version is on Disney+.

I wonder if Lin will re-open the show. I still think the majority of shows will use some form of “stunt” casting at first.

Maybe but wouldn’t Hamilton be one of the few shows that likely won’t need to resort to stunt casting?

Not necessarily. If the tourists aren’t going to be back for some time there’s going to need to be some sort of draw to get the locals back to it.

I agree some may try stunts but honestly I think the shows that need them will be waiting to open (if they do). I think the only stunt Hamilton may need is to make tickets available to the local market at a lower price point. Obviously if Lin wants to reopen the show he will but to me I think it will be more about the gesture than ticket sales. And of course he is a very busy boy.

I don't know about other people, but the filmed version is what piqued my interest and sold me on it. Before that, I actually was not fond of the show at all. Now I will probably try to see it.

Bloody Brilluant.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Hamilton will not be one of those shows. Granted, what I am about to say took place way before COVID, but still.

I had ushered there for six months. Started when the entire original leads were still in it, though it was getting close to the end of their run. Interestingly enough, Lin wanted the show to be the start, not any one in the cast. Even when he was in it. There was a performance that Lin was scheduled to do, but had to call out, so the understudy went on. Needless to say, there were people who were beyond pissed, and were not able to get a refund either since no one in the cast was considered above the title.

Yeah, that was way before COVID, and I know that things will change once Broadway is reopened.

I’m one of those that have no desire to see the show since I’ve seen it on Disney+. The physical production isn’t all that interesting, so unless there’s a certain performer, I’ve not interest in seeing it live.

But I’m sure the show will be just fine.

Lin is a very sweet guy but the thought of him trying to get through that Hurricane number again is just too much to put his fans through...I say stunt casting is not necessary....

I'm really sorry you feel that way. It is so much better live. I don't know why Lin was so low energy that day (knowing this would be streamed by millions of people) or why Leslie gave a horrible, weird performance complete with evil lisp, something he never did in front of a live audience. He was in negotiations until the evening before, so that might have something to do with it. Yuck.

I hope a performer you are excited about opens it up again and you can really enjoy it. It's wonderful.
