I would like to ask, as an Australian observer, Trump got over 71 million votes, almost half, but it appears not enough to win and certainly not a landslide for Biden.

Now, our local TV has shown plenty of celebrations for Biden but absolutely No reaction from the 71 million.

What are they all doing right now?

and, Trump[excuse the capital T but couldn't type President next to his name any more].

He is the Champion of those 71m and represents each one of their votes, so why is he absent from his duty, to them, and also the whole country?

He is still, officially, the leader of the USA but he playing golf!!! How does that help the sick, the poor, the unemployed the homeless?

It shouts out to this observer that enough of you lot that he played up to and impressed were not enough to get him over the line, so now he's saying, you can all go get fuvked !

He should thank all those 71m for their support and graciously disappear back to his mansions/his billions and his bimbos.

President Biden, you have a hell of a lot of work to do.

Those racist garbage people are very, very poor sports. So, they've been very quiet and it's so damn refreshing. Unity, love, compassion, empathy and PEACE are what's hot in the streets right now. 

I think it's cute that you think Trump cared about his supporters. Once again, he is a sociopath, he is a rapist, he is a liar. All he cared about was winning. He lost BADLY in the popular vote. So, he will spend the next two months in Florida golfing helping absolutely no one. Simple.

Genuine question here in a sec...While I'm nothing but thrilled to see the ousting of the orange, I have to keep reminding myself that we MUST keep Biden an Co's feet to the fire. We know this. I'm trying to not let myself be so thrilled with no more orange that I start doing the "Previous relationship was so toxic that I'll just accept a less toxic one". My question is what are y'alls thought on his war history? I know this is only one issue of many, but I was reminded of his being a part of the bombings in Serbia back in the 1999 and while there are certainly many reasons why this happened, he was a big part of it. Someone I know was a homeless refugee for a very long time because of it and said acquaintance is less than thrilled with our reactions to this. I don't blame that. But I do worry that we've already started to already "fall for Biden" merely because we're so happy to be rid of what we have. It's frustrating to have had to choose this way, but considering what the next chapter would have looked like otherwise...WOOF. How long will it be before even the Dems are out for their own blood money? Genuine questions here.

This is all very promising and even surpasses Fauci's prediction a little while back, but remember, this is all interim Phase 3 data. Some more information is needed- what is the efficacy breakdown for all age ranges and racial groups? How long does the vaccine offer protection? What will the efficacy be once there are 164 confirmed COVID cases in the trial? (there are 94 now)

Still, it's a great start. The world may be beginning to see some light at the end of what will be a very dark tunnel this winter.

Trump Fires Mark Esper as Defense Secretary

 

WASHINGTON — President Trump on Monday fired Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper, the latest casualty in the president’s revolving door of top national security officials who fell on the wrong side of their boss.

Mr. Trump announced the decision on Twitter, writing in an abrupt post that Mr. Esper had been “terminated.”

In announcing that he was firing his defense secretary, Mr. Trump sought to reclaim even a bit of the postelection narrative, which has been dominated by President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s victory.

But Mr. Esper’s downfall had been expected for months, after he took the rare step in June of disagreeing publicly with Mr. Trump and saying that active-duty military troops should not be sent to control the wave of protests in American cities. The president, who had threatened to use the Insurrection Act to do exactly that, was furious, officials said.

Mr. Esper’s spokesman tried at the time to walk back the damage, telling The New York Times that Mr. Trump did not want to use the Insurrection Act either, or he would have invoked it already. “We fail to see the disconnect,” said Jonathan R. Hoffman, a spokesman for Mr. Esper.

White House officials disagreed.
