...and it comes courtesy of minks, who have supposedly infected at least 12 people in the northern region thus far with a new strain of COVID-19. The Danish mink population will be killed ASAP, as has been ordered.

This could possibly be the most significant mutation of the virus so far.  Vaccine efforts could be hampered/made less effective despite the fact interim phase 3 data from a number of companies could be released within weeks. However, there is no specific scientific context on this yet, so stay tuned.

Sad story, but old think that how sad this is, the mink will be better off euthanised.

Now we see optimism fade, as hopes of a late 2021-early 2022 recovery start to dwindle. 

We have probably seen the genesis of COVID-20, and we appear to be heading right back to square one, with no end or vaccine in sight.
