Well, it's here. Finally. First election results are expected soon. Here in our home on the Left Coast, we are settling in for the evening with hot tea and toast.
If you are so inclined, your election night thoughts are welcomed.
I've had it on but with no sound. Decided I would watch NHK World this evening but they even have a banner across the bottom of their screen for electoral votes so Just have MSNBC on. I usually watch ABC but I just can't stand the sight of Christie.
I voted for Biden but I had a feeling Trump was going to put himself in a great position to most likely win re-election (it's 2020, after all). We are slowly witnessing the death of U.S. democracy. Who knows where we are headed now with this guy in the Oval Office for four more years.
Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin have yet to count the majority of their early votes and absentee ballots, and Biden is picking up Arizona (Fox News has already called it). This isn't over. The "red mirage" on election night with the "blue wall" is real.
Not the night Dems were expecting. At this point it looks like 2016 all over again. A few commentators are saying Biden didn't cover enough ground on the campaign trail. I honestly think it would not have mattered. I think we are looking at 4 more years of this madness.
It's so disheartening that some of you are giving up so easily especially when three of the biggest states likely won't announce a winner for a few more days. It's not over until its over.

That's optimistic, but you gotta admit that the chances are slim.

If Biden wins Nevada and holds Arizona, he needs Michigan and Wisconsin to win. Both of those states have barely begun to count their mail in and absentee ballots. People have been telling us for months not to buy into a red or blue mirage on election night and its really sad that people are.

I hope you're right, of course. Never been an optimist.

Biden's almost nailed down Arizona and if he wins 2/3 of the "blue wall" plus the 1 EC he nabbed out of Nebraska, he wins the election without PA. Making PA irrelevant to a Biden win will be essential when the Trump campaign brings litigation. It's tight, but Biden's whole appeal as a candidate––whether legitimate or not––was his appeal to precisely the voters in WI, MI, and PA. I hope the gamble pays off.
Biden has a good chance of winning with mail in votes. The Democratic experts have been saying this for months. Why have some of you given up? It is why Trump has been trying to discredit mail in votes and counting after 11/3.
I haven't given up. I know Biden still has a chance to win. What is scary is that these numbers so far are showing the sentiment across the country. People you would not expect to vote for 45 have voted for him. We have had a "president" that has acted in a manner that we have never seen in this country and still this is a close race. It is scary either way, in my opinion. I think we will be better off as a nation with Biden but the retaliation if he wins also has me nervous. 45's supporters are not going to take his loss sitting down. It may not be crazy for the next 4 years but, I feel, they won'y go away for a while. Just my random thoughts and opinion.

Come on gang. Biden has already improved on Hillary's numbers from 2016 and appears to be on the cusp of flipping Arizona. He still has a path to 270 with leads in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nevada. Victory for him would always occur in the margins. He's the ideal top of the ticket candidate for this particular election and has run a helluva campaign against the backdrop of the pandemic.
Breaking News...A federal judge has ordered the USPS to start sweeping for undelivered ballots which bodes well for Biden.
He is leading in Nevada, Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin. That puts him at 270. Now, of course, iq45 is asking for a recount in Wisconsin, delaying the process. Also, I haven't given up on PA since they just started counting the millions of absentees ballots there at 7am today. Most favor Biden.
If the situation were reversed Schumer would be leading the charge for a,recount. It is politics folks
Living in NYC we have a clueless Mayor and a governor who acts like an emperor. He has singlehandedly destroyed the NYC restaurant industry and is,responsible for thousands of nursing home deaths. Dems could run a tree trunk and republicans Abe Lincoln and the tree trunk would win. Another poster talked about the cult of Trump. I can think of another cult
I give Biden a year or less. He will either leave for health reasons or dems will force him out if he starts being less progressive . Than the fun starts with President Harris. Midterms than should be quite different
