Laura Osnes and Aaron Tveit star in ''One Royal Holiday,'' a new Christmas romantic-comedy airing Sat., Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. on the Hallmark Channel. They'll co-star with Broadway pros Victoria Clark, Krystal Joy Brown and Tom McGowan. Here's Laura and Aaron singing to celebrate the occasion.

I think Aaron could have shaved for the video or done some grooming. He looks like he just got out of bed.

Jeremy Jordon did a Hallmark movie as well that is premiering this year called Holly & Ivy.

Isn't the Hallmark channel full of horrible, Christian, virginal movies? I hope Ms. Osnes doesn't stay there for too long, would love to see her back on Broadway in the next few years.

I saw Ms. Osnes in "Bandstand" and she was wonderful, would love to see her again.

I've seen her live three times, and she is such a force. I think she did one of these movies last year as well, perhaps she is just trying movies before coming back to theater.

Cute song / promo. I don't typically watch Hallmark movies, but I might have to check this one out.

Awesome !! What did you see her in? Good for her doing different things and also making some money !! I think she and Aaron have a good chemistry on screen together.

Hallmark gigs are shot in Canada and usually are wrapped in 3 weeks. It is good money and many actors have worked for them. I would label the movies as family oriented romantic comedies. They are not virginal. There are some Christian movies that appear on UPN. Hallmark is actually getting onto the diversity game by featuring interracial leads and they are filming their first gay romantic comedy. I am glad they are using more Broadway actors and that they are integrating their singing talents.

Laura crosses another Broadway dreamboat off her list of co-stars! Laura Osnes & Aaron Tveit sing 'Winter Wonderland' to promote their new Hallmark 'Holiday' movie on Oct. 31

In all seriousness, it looks cute and how great that a group of theatre performers got to work during a time when hardly any are. Looking forward to watching this around the holidays!

Laura did a movie for them last year. The script was weak and it was hard to keep with it. Hopefully this one will be much better.

I agree. They all follow the same template - main characters meet, don't get along and fall in love at the end. It's good to see that some Broadway actors can find work elsewhere during the shutdown.

Horrible, Christian and virginal is a bit harsh, but I don’t think you would want a lot of recent Hallmark credits on your resume when you went to audition for a serious Broadway show. They are like tasty bonbons for adolescent girls to consume two or three in one sitting. Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back. Their audience is not looking for controversy.

Still, reading in between the lines of what Laura has said in cabaret performances and meet and greets, she had been auditioning regularly for 2.5 years since Bandstand’s premature demise without success (except for Crazy for You, which Susan Stroman fully workshopped in January, 2018 with Laura and Tony Yazbeck and seemed a sure thing).

I thought that she had established herself as a serious singer, actress and dancer in Bandstand, as Julie in Chicago Lyric Opera’s Carousel and Nellie in South Pacific, in which she must have appeared in nearly half of its 1000 performances. But this is a tough and competitive business.

Horrible, Christian and virginal holiday movies? I’m trying to imagine the exact inverse of this. Here’s my pitch- Hallmark, are you ready?

“Pansexual London party animal Ebenezer Scrooge VII inherited his ancestor’s disdain for Christmas but not his turnaround. Every holiday, he celebrates by getting absolutely wasted, having completely anonymous sex with as many strangers as he can, and committing as many rebellious blasphemies against the sacred AND secular sides of the holiday as possible. But this year he finds himself craving the affection of his bathroom shag from last Christmas. Only trouble is, he doesn’t remember what their name, they looked like or even their gender; just the unusual smell of their hair and a really cool thing they did with their hands. Scrooge VII must journey into the most sordid underbelly of London’s alternative holiday scene, wading through pools of pills, booze and hormones in search of the one that got off and got away. Hallmark presents: A Christmas Bang.”

I like to watch Hallmark movies especially Christmas movies. True, they follow a formula and can be somewhat predictable, but they are a welcome relief in a world that can be divisive and cruel. The lead actors they use are overly attractive and often times have good chemistry. And if you were born and raised in a small town and moved to a large metropolitan area you can relate to many of the scenarios. Many decent actors and actresses have done them over the years and the work did not tarnish their careers. Recently one featured John Voight who won an Academy Award and some Golden Globes. Danny Glover has done them as well.

I needed that laugh. Thank you!

Also, Osnes looks like she is enjoying the recording way more than he is.

Sounds AMAZING. I would see that over garbage movies on that channel any day. Even the sets are cheesy and terrible.

The scene where Scrooge VII, in Santa drag, lubes up and grinds on a life-sized crucifix to the sounds of Brian Eno’s “Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch” will be a holiday classic for generations to come.

They've been doing this all year now. They just aired a movie in August that featured a gay wedding. And this movie was actually filmed in Connecticut which is probably why they were able to use this group of actors. This is Laura's 3rd movie for Hallmark. She did a Christmas movie last year and also In The Key of Love.

This weekend is the Miracles Of Christmas preview which I believe will include snippets of the movie. The man who created Hallmark is from my hometown in Nebraska, Joyce C Hall. How nice that a Victoria Clark is in the cast. Such a lovely and friendly woman.

I used to giggle because they used to have very obvious product placement in their films. A canister of Folgers coffee would always appear in kitchen sequences and the camera would zoom in on the label. I was watching something on Apple TV and all the characters were using Apple phones and computers.
