Seeing Kate Baldwin in Concert Tonight#1

Im just getting home from my first time out at any sort of theater venue in almost 6 months and Im kind of on cloud 9. The venue (Open Jar Studios) I guess can usually hold 300+ people but this concert only allowed 48 audience members. Plexiglass dividers between everyone and tons of space between the 3 rows, masks on at all time. But none of that mattered when the show started. I became oddly emotional when the person over the speaker said Ladies and gentlemen please welcome to the stage...
Like a lot of people in that other thread Thoughts on Theater... where people say they miss it but wont go back anytime soon, I wondered how Id really feel sitting in a space like this. And honestly, and as cheesy as this sounds - it completely fed my soul and reinvigorated my love for live performance that Ive gone without all this time and I didnt think about anything else. Maybe I would have felt this way regardless of who was performing but getting to hear Kate Baldwins glorious voice for over an hour, the first live music Ive heard since March, just completely relit that fire inside me and the passion I have for theater. A very emotional evening for me and for some others I could see from their body language. And even if Im not able to see anything else live like this again for a couple months, this was enough to make me remember why I moved here and why Im never leaving.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I'm getting teary eyed just reading about the joy you got to experience tonight. I can't wait for the world to be safe for live performance again for everyone. I'm so glad you had such a glorious time.

I watched the live stream. It was a wonderful concert. I can't even IMAGINE what it must have been like to be there in person.

That arrangement of NEW YORK, NEW YORK will forever be one of my favorite things.

Went to the Brandon Victor Dixon one tonight and it was great, he did almost two hours and did everything from The Color Purple to Rent to Jesus Christ Superstar, The Lion King, The House of Flowers, it felt very thought out and lots of banter, hoping they do more of these!

what was the process like for getting tickets to these shows?
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
