In a speech that just concluded, Joe Biden encouraged voters to visit the subject website.  I did.  It verified that I am registered to vote.  I believe it offers the ability to register to vote.  If you are not yet registered to vote, please do it now.  Don't wait.

I've been voting since I was old enough. I am definitely voting!  I talked my older sister into it by telling her that our lives depend on it--literally.

I'm thrilled you are all ready to vote. But you need to do more.

You need to encourage, nag, guilt trip, everyone else you know to do the same and they need to do the same.

Read Micheal Moore's tweet and you'll see why. Remember, he was the only one who called it 4 years ago.

Sorry to have to provide the reality check again, but when they poll registered voters in the swing states, Biden & Trump are in a virtual tie. In Minn. it’s 47-47. In Michigan, where Biden had a big lead, Trump has closed the gap to 4pts. Are u ready for a Trump victory? ACT NOW!

It's much less crucial in CA and NY. But, people that live in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, and Michigan, PLEASE encourage all your people to vote. Don't tell them who to vote for of course, but just put it like this:

"Do you want a 74 year old mentally-ill toddler in the White House? Someone who has zero empathy, who is a child rapist, who threatens to defund school districts, who brags about sexually assaulting women, and who has specifically said the term "China Virus" in the past 9 months hundreds of times just to make Asian-Americans more fearful for their lives?

Or the man who is not/has not/will not do any of those things?"

Vote like your goddamn life depends on it, because it does. It really does.

I first voted in a Presidential election in 1968 when I was 21.  I was stationed onboard a U.S. Navy ship in Scotland.  The mail-in ballot was huge, about the size of a newspaper.  I had to lay it out on the deck to mark my choices.  In the following years, no matter where in the world I was, I voted in all the Presidential elections.  Including 2020, I will have voted in 14 Presidential elections.

Did my votes matter?  They mattered to me.

Here in California, all registered voters receive ballots in the mail.  This morning we completed our ballots, then drove to the Post Office to deposit them in the drop box.  Felt really good.

Just curious, if you're willing to share.  Are you registered to vote?  Will you vote by mail or in person?

I deposited my ballot into the nearest drop box here in Maryland last week and confirmed that it was received by the registrar last night via the state's website. I'll recheck the status on election day.

New Jersey is doing mostly mail in again because of Covid-19. I put my ballot in one of the drop boxes last week. Honestly, I kind of like doing it that way because I don't have to worry about what I am doing on Election day and can fill it out on my own time.

Several days ago, our mail carrier told us how his workload has increased because of the pending elections.  Not only is he delivering regular mail, but ballots, flyers, and returned ballots as well.  He said that he is making every effort to ensure that the mail is handled properly.  Please take a moment to thank you local mail carrier!

I'm heading to my dropbox tomorrow! I'm in Los Angeles County, so I've been checking and double checking to make sure I go to a legitimate dropbox. I'm using one that was printed on my ballot...even though there are others in the area.

^ Yes, in California make sure you know what the legitimate drop boxes look like & only place your ballot in there. I still can't believe the GOP refuses to remove their fake boxes. Or that they actually did it to begin with since they are obsessed with voter fraud.

I would love to vote - however as I am not American, I cannot, but if I could it would be Biden all the way, which I would say being a member of the British Labour Party.

So can you guys help me out? As I understand it every seat in the house to Representatives are up for grabs (does this make up the electoral college that elects the president?)

But a few of the senate is up for grabs, so could you have hopefully a Democrat/Biden President, but a Republican majority senate?

I agree.  Also live in NJ and I feel this is a much more secure way to vote.  The vote isn’t counted until the signature is verified as opposed to the in person machines that have tendency to break down periodically on Election Day.  Plus we don’t have to be subjected to these local officials who  come to the polls giving out printed materials.  Having people voting when it’s convenient for them will result in more people participating in the process, especially the very important youth vote.  I hope this continues going forward.

Yes every seat in the house is up for grabs, however in this stupid country most of those seats are too entrenched through districting.  We have a big problem called gerrymandering here.  State governments draw legislative districts, 2/3 of US state governments are controlled by Republicans, so if you make up the districts right you can win let's say 8 out of 11 congressional seats even though you only got half the vote.  Something akin to this happened in North Carolina recently.  No, it has nothing to do with the electoral college.  We take a census every 10 years to determine how many congressional seats are up for grabs in each state.  When I was a kid in the 60's and 70's New York was apportioned 41 of the seats in the house of representatives because of our population.  Now because of population shifts New York has less seats and states like Florida have more.  The Electoral College stipulates that if a candidate gets one more vote in a state, that candidate gets all of the electors, for example Clinton won California by millions of votes and Dump won other states by a few thousand.  So twice in the last 20 years the person with less votes has won our Presidency.  Finally yes, seldom in our history have both houses the House and the Senate and the Presidency been in control by the same party.  The Senate which is a ridiculous equal to the House in our country is determined by states.  A state with 3 million population gets an equal amount of seats, two, as a state with 40 million.  That's Murica, land of the crooked and stupid.

I am most definitely voting and letting my class of students know that voting is an important (as imp as it gets in this election- like others have already said - feels like a life/ death situation) civic duty and a responsible thing. I also, in parallel, chose to talk to them about the various facets of making up a Society in sociological terms and ensured that they have a conversation about voting and its importance in a democracy.

One of the best-conceived political ads of election season. Would have been even better if they snuck in "Will you shut up, man?".
