Hi All,

I just had a memory of a (possible) NYT article that explored all the potential artwork designs for the La Cage Aux Folles revival and how much I loved seeing them all.

Ive done a bit of searching and have found some Hamilton, Hadestown and Frozen developments - just wondering if there were anymore?

I remember one for Amélie and every other design was better than the one they used.

Artwork That Never Was

I think this was the pre-broadway poster for Wicked??? Might have given away too much of the plot.

- NYTimes did a profile of James McMullan about his posters for Lincoln Center Theatre, including a fascinating development of "The King and I"

- David Edward Byrd chronicles a few of his poster designs including "Follies" on his website.

- In the "Miss Saigon" documentary theres a section where Cameron Mackintosh talks to Russ Eglin about his logo/poster design for the show.

I hope self-promo is ok - I'm also fascinated by unused/concept Broadway artwork and keep a lil Pinterest board of stuff I come across :) if you fancy a gander!

Can never figure out how to post images on here, but I remember seeing initial artwork for Mary Poppins that was much different than what was used for broadway and what they are using currently.

I can’t find them, but I remember two articles on potential artwork for both Wicked and King Kong. I think there was at least 4 or 5 for each.
I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

NYT also did one of these for China Doll, everybody's favorite play of 2015!
