I absolutely hated Memphis, largely due to Kimball’s odd performance. But I had never heard definitively why that was. I feel slightly bad, but no one should really be performing in bad health - especially with it affecting his performance so much. Sadly, my favorite Kimball performance remains that of Milky White’s hind quarters in Into The Woods.

I actually really liked him in Lennon.

(I also really like the block feature here!)

I have no idea and I can't imagine why it would be relevant if they had, but I also don't want to chill your curiosity. I will say that I am quite confident if you asked Montego Glover you would get an earful and that what you heard would include some trenchant comments on systemic racism in this business. Could you seriously imagine anything else?

Hope not. The show is painfully mediocre and unfunny aside from the Beverley Bass song.

I might have to disagree as I seem to enjoy it more each time I see it.  But Chad isn't even necessary or essential.  When I saw it again in London last spring, the guy who played Kevin One was so spectacular the show seemed to revolve around him, he became the voice of the show and that didn't happen either time I saw Chad in the role.

That sound you heard this morning is Mr. Kimball tearing up his Actor's Equity card.

Well, we certainly hope this is not the case. There was a modest wardrobe call there yesterday, but a lot can happen in a year. Obviously, the longer I takes to get back, the harder it will be for some shows to remain in wait.

Why would there be a wardrobe call for a show that's not going to have performances for at least another 6 months?

My guess is that perhaps there were wardrobe people in to do protective maintenance. There are several reasons there would not be actors in (something that would properly be referred to as a "call"Chad Kimball.

Yep. That's all. I happen to disagree with you and think the show will survive, but obviously that's just a complete guess. The longer this takes, the more uncertainties there will be, of course. I can see lots of successful shows not wanting to put all the efforts- and monetary risk- it will take to restart.
I'm assuming you read the Times article about the Met? We had discussed pay cuts for workers in the past when we do restart.i think that was met with some resistance by you and others here, yet, Gelb made sure to mention that. It's coming. Count on it.

I would distinguish between "not . . . coming back" and not "surviv[ing]" I think the show will have a future but I don't think it will reopen on Broadway. I think there is a risk in comparing it with the Met. CFA will be dependent on tourists whereas I think the Met will reopen to SRO audiences of well-heeled locals. Regarding pay cuts, I'll just add that it takes two to tango: if the Met reopens to full houses, as I think it will, it will be hard to sell pay cuts, at least at the rank and file level. But as with all of this, we don't know.

ETA: who would have ever thought that a thread about Chad Kimball would include a mention of Peter Gelb? LOL

Look at one of his Twitter likes. Do you think his fellow Broadway actors would appreciate being called insane for simply having pronouns in their bios? Idk how his castmates could stand him.  Chad Kimball

Maybe he's just cozying up to JK Rowling so he can be the next Harry Potter in The Cursed Child...

And to think 18 years ago he was the ass-end of Milky White in Into The Woods. How the mighty fall laterally.

I'm going to give Chad the benefit of the doubt because perhaps he is experiencing some neurological or psychiatric effects after having Covid-19.

Except he was this way way before Covid. Shame on the producers if he's back in the show after this.

Way before Covid he was addicted to Adderall. Good on him for getting sober, I guess, but what's his excuse now?
