In the cancel culture we seem to live in now, I was wondering if it still is ok to wear my "Hamilton" t-shirt or hoodie in public or just save it for around the house.

I wore my Hamilton t-shirt to work the day prior to the Disney+ release, and most everyone was completely oblivious. I’ll wear it whenever I please and wherever I please. I don’t dress myself to accommodate other’s political views. And I have zero intent to toss away my appreciation of the cultural arts in case it offends some one. Not gonna happen.

For the most part yes, but you do know there have been people saying "Hamilton" should be canceled because it did not really address slavery.

Good for you !! Over the years, I have gotten comments wearing the T-shirt and hoodie and it has mainly been " Have you seen the show?". I was joking a bit when I posted this but part of me was wondering if there would now be some negative reaction. I hope not.

I guess it depends...are you willing to defend your wearing of it? And I dont mean me, I mean to whatever potential problems you forsee. I guarantee the percentage of people that are aware of its "cancellation" is pretty minor.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Reminds me of my great aunt, who was quite ahead of her time. She got a PhD from Stanford and was a pilot, before woman did these things in large numbers. She was a Spanish professor and traveled extensively in Central and South America. My sister saw the original production of EVITA and she loved wearing the tshirt. My aunt who was normally calm and fun to be around flew off the handle when my sister wore it to a family gathering. "She was an evil, evil woman! You should be ashamed of wearing that shirt!"

It's fine to wear Hamilton merchandise for now but you should be aware that the actual cancelling will take place on August 13 and wearing it past that date will no longer be acceptable if you want to look civilized.

but if it isn't
wear whatever the hell you want, hamilton's casting is entirely about POC claiming the names and faces of those that kept them as slaves. there's no reason why hamilton would be racist or you would be "cancelled" for wearing the merchandise. sit down, you're not Shane dawson, I doubt that you'll be cancelled by anybody, nevermind an entire group.
