Hale Center does incredible work, but it’s all non-union. I was offered a gig in Florida, but Equity didn’t approve it. I was disappointed but I get it.

A representative from one organisation tells another private organisation what they are and aren't allowed to publish. I don't agree the theatre in question skirting current guidelines and putting their performers and audiences at risk, however Shindle's dramatic callout at a media outlet reporting it is a little "old man yells at cloud".

I don't think she'd have a problem with it if they had framed it properly. Nowhere in their interview did they note that they were doing this against AEA's recommendations and breaking their contract to do so. This was a fluff piece. That instead of actually updating the interview and deleting it instead just goes to show that is exactly what it was & how cowardly they are.

Broadway World is free to publish whatever they want.

Kate is also free to lambast them for that editorial decision. She didn't threaten a reduction of access or any other material consequence through her position as AEA president.

This is not "journalism." BWW cut and pasted a press release that happened to be objectionable (by omission). They dealt with it; case closed. But of course it seems that around here people don't like to move on when there is nothing left to say.

It was written and billed as a BWW interview with the managing partner of the theatre; if BWW is just cutting/pasting press releases and calling them interviews I would love to hear more.
