Posting this here as well as in the West End board as pretty sure this will be of some interest to Broadway fans too.

According to UK Daily Mail columnist Baz Bamigboye, the worlds longest running play THE MOUSETRAP is preparing to reopen in late October in London’s West End with the theatre COVID-proofed (as much as possible) and social distancing in the audience and for the actors.

Really hopes this works out for them. At the moment all West End shows are off until 9/3 earliest, with SIX off until end September, and LES MIS, PHANTOM, MARY POPPINS and HAMILTON closed until 2021.

Well, as of right now Samantha Barks is still doing a solo concert at the Adelphi and John Owen Jones will be doing one on Sept. 20. There appears to be no distancing in seating, looking at the website.

My now-husband and I saw "The Mousetrap" in London in 1967.  Neither of us have much memory of the play itself, but we do recall having a nice evening.  Even then, it was billed as "longest running".  I am happy that it is still with us.

I saw it for the first time last year and was surprised at how tight it was. It didn’t seem stale at all. I didn’t know that the cast is regularly all switched out to keep it that way but I’m happy it’s coming back.

I am curious what shows will be back by the fall. I have been hoping to substitute my New York trip for London. But I guess right now there’s a chance that &juliet six and that Ian mckellans hamlet and Webber’s Cinderella could be options. I wonder if smaller houses west end plays will be the first. I do give Webber credit he’s definitely apt to open back at the earliest opportunity

I think they change the director every time they change the cast so that’s probably helping to keep it in good shape.

I've heard they re-design the set from time-to-time as well.
